Question about Mitsubishi WD-62827 62" Television

Whites and Light Blues Very Pixely

I have a two year old WD-62827. I just changed the light source, but all light blues and whites are very pixely. If the screen is still it is clear, but if it is moving it seems weird. Any help is appreciated.

I am watching a 62 HD TV, however it does this on all setting from 1080I all the way down to low def stations. I just changed the light bulb, but that was not the problem. Not sure if my Blues are going or what.

I bought this in 2006 new. I did buy the 5 year warranty so it is still covered. The DLP light engine, is that something that can be fixed?

My TV just started to do this same thing, I can see it more on still screens like the blue background of the DVR screen, but also does this on the DVD that is connected direct to the TV via DVI. so i know its not the signal from the DVR. Have you been able to find out what the problem is?

This could depend on the source. If you're talking about Cable T.V. then it could be the compression that the cable company is using. However if this happens when you're using a full 1080P source, then *** may be a problem with the T.V. Whatcha Watching?

If it's happening on all of your settings, It's probably going to be a problem with the DLP light engine. That TV came out in 2005, right? Did you buy it brand new, or as a floor model etc.? In any case, it's more than likely out of warranty and going to be a pain in the wallet. Best Advice I can give you with this info is hold out for some price cuts this holiday season. Sorry I couldn't be of help.

Fixed? Not sure. I know it can be replaced. If you're still under warranty, call the store where you bought the extended warranty and tell them the issue and that it wasn't like that when you bought it. The DLP engine has a spinning color wheel that breaks up the white light from the if anything is off in the calibration any number of things could happen.

its most likely the Blue CRT drive board which is causing the issue since the set would not power up if the Blue CRT itself were bad, so the drive board is the most likliest. You can get the blue CRT drive board from

Service man says light engine. how much? jvc model hd52g886

Whites are yellow can be a convergence or color balance problem, and lamp going out could also be a bad ballast board, black spots are usually light engine, could be a different fault on DMD board.

The fact is that when you get all this symptom together unavoidably you have a faulty light engine.

The light engine is the most expensive part to replace, its price for this model is always over $1600 ( I know, keep the heart tablets at hand).

Here is the part for your model: TS-COP7A-SAA-R

Mitsubishi WD-62827 Problem

Uh Oh! Unless this is something simple like a loose piece inside the projection chamber shadowing the screen it would have to be the light engine ($$$) warping due to overheating of its plastic housing. Check inside the cabinet for loose objects in front of the lens, then clean all the fan filters, then call your warranty company.
Hope Ya Fix It!
