Why is my canon ip1800 printer still not printing after cleaning the ink absorber, I still get the message ink absorber is full

Shelly, Did you reset printer after cleaning absorber.
Press and hold the "Power" button and reconnect the power cord. When the printer comes on, release the button. Wait five seconds and push the "Power" button again. This resets the printer's internal memory and overrides the "ink absorber full" error code.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

How could i fix my cannon ip1800 encounter this problem, ink absorber almost full?

This is a job for a canon repairer. the ink absorbers are in the bottom of the printer and the whole print engine needs to be removed in order for them to be changed. its a huge job. (and very messy too). After that the software needs to be reset to remove the message.

Ink absorber if full, contact service provider? is there any other remedy?

There are two remedies for an error ink absorber full. First, is the ink absorber pads is actually full of waste ink and needs cleaning. The second is to reset the printer to clear the error and let the printer print again.

Clean the two absorber pads
. Its is actually two absorber pads located on the right side of the printer, under the ink cartridges when it is in home base position.
How to access the pads and remove it for cleaning?
Turn on the printer. Lift the top cover to expose the ink cartridges. As soon as you lift up the cover the cartridge carrier will move away from its home base.. Then the pads will be exposed. It will be a dirty job so be prepared with your tweezer and extra cloth for some ink spill. Using the tweezer, lift up the pads sitting on a rubber retainer. The pads can be easily clean by placing it under a running water. Warm water will be nice to remove the ink from the pads. After this, you can now return the pads. However, the problem will not be solve especially if you are currently facing the waste ink absorber full error.

Reset the Printer using an iP Tool
iP Tools are utilities designed to clear errors that will appear in an iP1800 printer. Download this iP Tool here.
while the printer is on Run this software
1. Click Reset Main to reset the waste ink counter and
2.
Click Reset Platen button

If errors still persist.
Press and Hold down Reset button and wait until the printer restart.
Release the Reset button and wait until it fully initialize.

Happy printing.

I have a Canon ip1800, which keeps coming up with the message," ink absorber is full" Please advice how to sort this problem. Thank you

The printer counts the number of prints and cleaning cycles and when you get that error you need a shop to replace the ink absorber pads and reset the counter so the error goes away. If you bypass the error, the ink will fill up and leak out or ruin the printer sensors. The absorbers cover the entire bottom of the printer and require complete disassembly to remove.

PIXMA IP1800 INK ASBORBER IS ALMOST FULL . WHAT DO I DO TO SAVE THE PRINTER.

When the ink absorber gets full you need to take the printer to the shop. The printer has to be completely taken apart to replace the absorber which covers the whole bottom of the machine. After that you need to get to the diagnostic mode which only Canon techs can do, and reset the absorber counts. In my shop the repair runs around $80.00
