My player is working perfectly fine, but my system is not recognizing the device. This is an used Player. i dont have any Warrenty. The A/V out is working fine. Re: Player not recognized by PC

Ive had this problem sometimes with xp computers.

make sure you dont have any external drives on as well, like a external hard drive, other players, or phones and such.

Re: Player not recognized by PC

· Make sure you have media player 11
· If you can, the best test is to try your player with another PC, to see if you still have the problem. This localises whether the problem is with the PC (most likely the USB) or the player. See the link below (search on "connection problems") for a lot more troubleshooting on this.
· Download recovery tool off creative's website.
· go to my computer > click on hardware tab >
click on device manager button > in the is next screen on the bottom should have>>universal serial bus controllers
(write these down just in case it cant find them)
right click on them and uninstall
reboot let windows reinstall them

· Also told Microsoft hotfix causes this problem try uninstalling the last hotfix
If that doesn't fix it try the USB cable

If IPOD is working fine other than the connection problems, then the fault lies with either your cable or your USB port...
if its not working perfectly then try this: 1.slide hold switch to on and off a couple of times and then let it rest to off position and hold menu and select buttons together till an apple logo appears on screen. 3.Connect to system and this time it should be detected in recovery mode. 4.Restore and it should work fine.

My PC is not recognizing my Insignia KIX MP3 player any longer

Have you tried changing the cable to another one you know works or have you reinstalled your players drivers?

if you haven't done so, try to uninstall the drivers for your device and then reinstall them. With the player plugged into your usb, open up your Device Manager.

for XP, right click your MY Computer on the desktop and select Properties, click the Hardware tab, click on the Device Manager button. Im not a Vista user but on there I believe you open the Properties on My Computer still, then on the left side of the System Information window, click the Device Manager link.
(or hold Windows Key and press the Pause key to open DM)

Once in the DM, locate your player. Usually under the Universal Serial Bus Controllers. It may be named Mass Storage Device or something else. If you cant recognize it in the list, unplug it an plug back in while looking at all the USB deviced currently installed.

If you see no changes at all as you plug/unplug your player then you may have another problem.

When mp3 is plugged in, computer won't recognize it-so won't sync

try resetting it to factory settings.if that doesnt work you have to generate a system file. you can do this by recording your own voice in the player and saving it. this generates the system file and the computer will be able to recognize the player.thanks for using fixya!. please dont forget to rate my solution!
