SOURCE: Maxtor 52049U4 20GB hard drive jumper settings

There should be a diagram showing how you should set the jumper. Set it according to what you want it to be and it should begin to should up. You can set it as Master, Slave, or Cable Select.

5T020h2 jumper setup

No jumper is used on the J50 pins, when using the Maxtor 5T020H2 IDE harddrive, as a Slave harddrive.

In otherwords do not use a jumper on any of the jumper pins.

This is a PDF file of the Harddrive Specifications of the 5T020H2, 5T010H1, 5T030H3, 5T040H4, and 5T060H6 Maxtor IDE harddrives,
from Seagate. (Seagate bought out Maxtor)

The Jumper Settings are in Chapter 2, Page 5 (2-5)
Looking at the page number for the PDF file it's on Page 15.
