Firstly, knowing your operating system would seem like cheating but would save all of us time. Vista likes us to waste time but most other Windows versions make it easy to see if your fax services are enabled. Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs or Programs and features to see if you have the check boxes all checked. If you feel adventurous you can go to Start>Run>type mmc, Enter then add snap ons, choose services and see if any relevant services are disabled. Fax printers are also accessible in the Printers window where you can add a printer which is what fax really is More info gets you more help. your friend, Steve Medley

Disconnect non standard fax protocol device (i.e. PC data modem, credit card machine, etc.) from line. The fax will only communicate with ITU-T standard fax protocol devices.

Check your ink cartridges and fill any that may be low. I got that error because one of the cartridges (magenta) needed to be refilled. The printer was storing failure reports in its memory until they could be printed out, leaving no room to fax new documents. As soon as the ink cartridge was replaced, the reports printed and freed up the memory to send out faxes.

Thanks

You then have to power cycle the printer (hold down on/off for 1 second, wait 10 seconds, power on, wait for it to get ready (another 10-20 seconds).

How long have you had it? Initially you can try to disconnect the printer from the computer and do copy. Another thing is you can try to plug the printer to another compute. Also try to reinstall the printer software just like doing it from the scratch. Uninstall any previous printer driver and software.

Clear the internal memory on the machine, perform a reset in the menu - restore to defaults, just clear out more memory in the device.

Says memory full but nothing in memory

Memory full errors can be caused by a couple of things. When you send a fax the machine settings and the amount of installed memory can cause this. Check the resolution you have the fax machine set at, usually it is set on something like "text" or "draft", if it is set on somthing like "fine" or "super fine" you will fill up the memory faster. Also if you are loading the document into memory before it actually connects with the other machine this could happen. Try looking for a switch or setting on your machine that says "direct". If you have a direct send enabled, your machine will not load the image into memory, it will wait for the other machine to answer and start receiving before actually doing any transmitting of the document. These are just general ideas as you did not describe the make or model of your machine. Hope this helps.

Sending Broadcasting Faxes:

Using the BROADCASTING BUTTON on the control panel you can use the broadcasting fax feature. 1. Load the document(s) face down into the ADF. 2. Adjust the document resolution to suit your fax needs.Press BROADCASTING on the control panel.4. Enter the number of the remote machine using the number keypad. 5. Press enter to confirm the number. The display ask you to enter another fax number to send the document. 6. To enter more fax numbers, press 1 to select "YES" and repeat steps 4 and 5. You can add up to 10 destinations. NOTE: You cannot use group dial numbers for another fax number. 7. When you finish entering fax numbers, press 2 to select "NO" at a "ANOTHER NO" prompt.

The document is scanned into memory before transmission. The display shows the memory capacity and the number of pages being stored in the memory.
The machine begins sending the document in order of the numbers you entered..Hope this helps

Canon MP530 - Fax Not Working

sounds like the rollers need to have them cleaned little rubbing alcohol and soft non fiberous paper towel to help clean
there is also in fax a paper feeder that needs to cleaned its like the roller but usually only one roller this mechanical device pops up grabs next page and pushes it into fax

make sure pages arent static cling to each other this will also make a one page fax happen
example
when you take a staple out of packet your faxing put a little air between pages this is static cling

Canon MIXPA MP530 Memory is full

I found this in a forum and I suspect it will work, remember that you'll need to clear the internal memory chip by unplugging the printer:

I got the dreaded "memory full" problem with my mp530 this morning. Couldn't FAX because the mp530 thought its memory was full even though it showed no documents in memory. The Canon site lists this symptom with a solution of 'turn off the unit, wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on'. Well that didn't work, so after multiple tries I noticed a post on this board (not really related) that suggested turning off the unit, unplugging it and waiting 10 minutes -- and that did the trick.

Memory full display when trying ty fax

Thks for the above info. Went to my 530 to fix same problem and didn"t work. Mem in use light kept flashing. Re-traced phone line and outside line and found they were plugged into wrong jack. Moved the phone to the phone plug and outside line to outside line, and problem gone. This worked for me but there may be other causes that will make this happen
