Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX Personal Web Camera

i have been told that the sound card in my dellxps400 is not compatible with the logitech quick cam stx , and thaat is the reason for the static that comes and goes when using the cam with this computer. logitech tells me its dells problem, dell tells me its logitechs problem. by chance has anybody heard of a possible cure(and dell wont take it back).

I have the same exact problem. happens with Ventrillo and with AIM

I don't think many people have a trouble free web cam, whatever make or model of pc or web cam.

I get echo and feed back; if that's wot you mean by static, or do you litterly mean static.

Helps to have your volume down a touch and the person who you are speaking to also, especially if it has a built in microphone(sorry, not checked your model), a seperate microphone is best as it's away from any possible speaker feedback from your pc's speakers, or any other clse electrical interference.

Hope this relieves it a little.
