I am assuming this is a BIOS password.

Inside your case on the motherboard there should be a password reset jumper. You may have to search for it. If you have documentation on your system, it may help. You can also get help from Gateway support for your specific model and motherboard.

You normally have to move the jumper from pins 1 & 2, to pins 2 & 3 and reboot. You should get a message that the password has been cleared. Shut down, move the jumper back to its original position and reboot.

Ive lost my pasword to my dell pc

You mean the windows login? To retain the password you should use a Windows password recovery tool. One that I have used is ophcrack , it's excellent and free. Just try googling for it.

HDD password for Gateway (model 3018GZ)

This is a protection feature on the system and i'm guessing one of the users on this system set it up - intentionally or accidentally. Best resolution to this (apart from replaceing the Hard drive) is to contact the vendor of the product and get the master password for the system.

Re: lg tower xp install

Hi,
the boot device setup in the bios, if you set atapi-cd rom as first boot device. then hdd second. and fdd last.
it appears that you have a faulty connection from the IDE ( 40-80 wire cable ) that runs from the motherboard Primary/secondary slot. check the cable goes from motherboard to hard-drive and is connected firmly, also check the jumper blocks ( small white plastic block ) is set to master or slave on both devices ( cd-hard-drive ) if both on same cable set hard-drive to slave and CD rom to master. if they are both set as master or slave, they will conflict with each other.
if you need further help, please mail back.

Old comp beeping sound

well..the updates might has confused the memory allocation settings, and the beeping is telling you that the memory is not happy. Try reseating memory, and swapping it's locations. Can't hurt.
