Question about LG LHD45EL Dehumidifier
Purchased this machine in Oct or Nov, 2006.
Upon entering our beach home, this machine was very hot to touch and it was making a hot smell, and sounding like a grinding noise. I suspected that a motor or something inside the housing has disintegrated. I immediately unhooked the machine. The bucket was empty, since it was connected to a hose and entered the crawlspace which was normal. I have enjoyed this machine, and it did collect alot of moisture in this seldom used beach home. I purchased it a Lowes Home Improvement store for $169 or $199. Unfortunately, I cannot find the instruction manual or even the receipt and exact date of purchase. What can I do now. There is a 5 year warranty. How can I use the warranty? Can I send the machine to a factory representative for repair? Please help. The cold and wet weather season is about to begin.

SOURCE: Hi, I have an LG
Try to see if operating the float lever by hand can make it turn off the 'bucket full' message. Maybe use a rubber band or tape to keep it in the on position vs. the 'bucket full' off position.
Check to see if the bucket has to be inserted for the unit to operate, and if the bucket has a nozzle to hook a hose up to at the bottom. I have a dehumidifier of a different brand that has this feature that works with the bucket in, but with the drain nozzle on the bucket connected to a plastic tube that leads to a drain for continuous operation without having to empty the bucket.
How is your hose attached to the unit if it isn't attached to the bucket?
Good luck on this repair.
