Seems that one of the fins inside the tumbler has come loose. Not sure how to take the top of the dryer off to access the outside of the drum. Any suggestions?

One of the fins came loose on the tumbler inside. How do you access to tighten the fin. The model number is MDE5500AYW.

Out of balance most likely. What is causing this has to be investigated from a loose belt to bad motor bearings. You will have to open it up and check.

ASKO DRYER T700, DRUM IS MAKING BANGING SOUND AS IT SPINS.

Hi.

The loud banging noise in the spin part of the cycle is usually caused by bad drum bearings. The repair is carried replacing the bearing at the back of the drum. Such kind of replacement is carried disassembling most of the appliance to reach the back of the tub. If you have not done similar repairs before it may be better to call a technician ringing the Asko support number listed on the owners manual.

Regards.

You may have had a foreign object slip under a loose drum baffle. Manually rotate the drum to locate wwhich baffle it is in.

Dryer makes banging noise

basscat, you first remove the door by removing the screws from the hinges. The door will lift up a litte and pull off. Next remove the spacers on the other side. Now the front panel will pull out from the top. There will be two 1/4 inch screws with latches on each side of the frame, remove these and the top will lift up. Now by holding the door switch and starting the dryer, you will be able to see what is banging. Once you determine that, you can remove the bulk-head, should be 4 screws, be sure to unplug the door switch. Unfasten the belt, remember the configuration and remove the drum. You are now able to get at the insides. Catriver..post back.
