Logitech Extreme 3d Pro Calibration problems.

When I use my Logitech Extreme 3d Pro on my Microsoft Conbat Flight Simulatio 2 WWII Pacific Theater. I can only use the trigger for firing the gun, but its not in bursts like a machine gun or rapid firing, I'm getting killed in this game. Its like I'm forced to fire at the enemy with a hand gun, Whats wrong?

Dear plbrduck,

I think i might be able to fix it. Have you tried creating a cycle command with the trigger? That could be the answer to your problem.

Can I use my Logitech extreme 3d pro on MAC OS X?

Yes! Just plug it in. No driver installations required as it comes built in with the OS.
But, you might, like me, find yourself searching high and low for an operator manual. Nothing came with mine even though it was a brand new, fully boxed/packaged purchase. I'm going to be using mine in a flight sim. I would really like to find a manual that describes and explains what all the buttons can do.
If you find one, it would be great if you would post a link to it back here...

Problems with turning

You need to do a calibration on the joystick. I don't know what operating system you have, but if it a PC, and you have Windows XP you can go into control panel and look under Game Controllers, it should list your joystick. Click Properties and then select the Settings Tab to calibrate your joystick.

Hope this helps.

I need calibration software for the logitec 3d pro joystick. will not maintain level flight in AP (flight sim ).

this was not originaly my post but i saved it.and it worked for me. HOW TO CALIBRATE THE LOGITECH EXTREME 3D PRO JOYSTICK
I just figured out how to calibrate this joystick. I am using Windows XP. I assume it will work with all Windows operarting systems though.

Go to Control Panel, click on "Game Controllers", or however you get to your joystick settings. Hold down the "Ctrl" (control key) and the "Shift" key together - at the same time, THEN click your mouse on the "Properties". This should take you to a different calibration screen that you would get to without holding the two keys together. IMPORTANT - Click on the "Test" tab first. If you go to the settings tab first, it likely will not work. Without doing anything else after clicking on the "Test" tab, next click on the "Settings" tab. Then click on the "Calibrate" button below. Click "next". Click the thumb button on the left side of the joystick which should bring you to another screen. Then follow the prompts......
* On the "axis calibration", move your joystick in full circles, making sure the "+" symbol moves around the far margins of the square. After a few complete circles, click the "next" button with your mouse.
* On the next screen, click the left button on the joystick again, which should bring you to the next screen. Move the throttle lever back and forth a few times. Then click "next" again.
* On the "Z rotation screen", move the joystick to the left and right (rotate it) a few times. Then click "next" and then "finish" then "ok". Thats it. It should be calibrated now. Hope this helps everyone with problems.

When I bank right or left with joystick the screen Freezes

To check the joystick isn't the problem, go into control panel game controls, then check that the joystick appears and you can move the cross-hair around on screen, most modern joysticks are
auto-calibrating, but you could try running the calibration.

To check the game isn't a problem, unplug the joystick, then use the arrow keys to fly the plane, if it doesn't crash when you bank then it isn't the game.

I assume the game is Combat Flight Simulator 3, as very old games that were written for Windows 95,98,ME series often won't run on Windows NT,2000,XP,Vista as they are completely different versions of Windows. If this is actually Flight Simulator 3, you may need to consider buying a later version of Flight Simulator (FSX is the latest version, but may not run on your laptop).

Other things to try are updating the graphics card driver.

Norton shouldn't need deactivating, although it could cause problems if you're playing online.

Also remember that laptop graphics cards are never as powerful as desktop graphics, and games very rarely specifically support laptop graphics.

Hope this helps.
