Question about Pride New Mobility Legend 4 Wheel Scooter

1 Answer

Pride victory mobility scooter

When I engage the throttle one of my batteries volts goes way down and I do not have enough power to climb a hill. I check the voltage when standing after 12 hours of charging and it only goes to 11 volts. This is the same battery that drains when engaged.

A fully charged battery should be over 12 volts. You may need to change your batteries.

A fully charged battery should be over 12 volts.
You may need to change your batteries(get them load tested)
Remember to change your batteries as a pair even if its only one battery at fault

What should be the output voltage be from the controller on a pride victory scooter?

It depends on the position of the speed pot and throttle pot. At maximum setting, total battery voltage less 1 volt.

My victory scooter will not go foward

if the throttle pot feels okay that is what the lever is attached to ? is it loose ? if it goes in reserve okay i would say it's the throttle pot, i can get you one of these if required.

Why does my Pride Go-Go Ultra X 4-Wheel not break quickly?

You may need to charge the batteries fully. You may be exceeding the hill slope recommended or exceeding the weight capacity. These are light duty scooters with light duty brakes. Slow down and enjoy the ride keeping this in mind. You may want to have the throttle potentiometer checked out. It needs to go to neutral for the brake to engage. These scooters have a relatively long brake sense engagement through the controller electronics.

Pride vicyory viper mobility scooter. no power no lights no ignition scooter dead . was goin just stopped . fuses replaced

about the only thing I can suggest is to make sure you have power out of the batteries going to the system. If you have a charger port located on the tiller take a digital volt meter and set it to 200 vdc and plug the leads into the two outter holes of the charger port with a full charge you should read 25-27 volts. If you don't have a reading at the port then there is a problem with the power getting to the tiller. It could be a bad cable Pride is notorious for developing problems in the cable going to the tiller. I would suggest you find a repair service to check the scooter for you. Maybe your provider (where you got the scooter) has a tech that can check it for you. I'm sorry I can't give you a definite answer but there are so many things that can affect a scooter: bad throttle, bad speed pot , bad cable, bad connections, bad batteries that its difficult to give you one answer that will fix your probelm Hope this helps you

I have a pride victory xl8. Problem - was running

All scooters have a protection system built in to prevent burning up the motor, and the user, should the scooter overheat. It sounds like yours overheated. If the temp. outside was warm to hot, and your weight is near the weight limit for the scooter, and you are taxing the motors over a hill, or unstable terrain, then the scooter goes into "limp home mode", or just enough to get you a bit aways, and then it will turn off. After a few minutes to cool off, it will go again, but shut down fairly quickly because it takes a spell to let the whole transaxle-motor assembly to get cool.

Check your weight, and anything else you may be carrying with you on the scooter. Check the terrain, and incline you are going against. Throttle down for all these occassions. If you overloaded the system at some point, then you may have overheated the brushes. Remove them (2) with a standard screwdriver and see if the copper coil is still flexible and springy. If not, replace it/them.

The damage may already be done, so it may need a new motor/transaxle assembly. An expensive proposition I'm afraid.
