Sorry for the delay in response. i was speaking to a JVC service center techie here and he said that this is normal. You have to manually switch the view. It does not happen automatically, and is done for safety reasons..

Swapped red and yellow wires on my JVC KD-R200, then swapped them back. Now it only powers on when I push the Eject button. Otherwise, nothing

Swapping the red and yellow wires cannot possibly have any affect on the radio. Both wires need to see 12 volts for proper operation. If they are reversed, it would only simply fail to save the memory settings. You have other issues. You have probably lost power on the red wire.

I have a power issue display will light up cd will go in and out ,but cannot get unit to come on? (jvc kd-g420 )

It's likely wired wrong - if this is a new unit.

Did you install yourself?

Is it new?

Did you use a wiring harness?

CHECK THIS TIP for general wiring tips.

let me know if you have additional questions.

Thanks!

Installing KD-HDR20 and I get a red power light but nothing works

I have had the same issue and I tried until I found the problem.
1) I had no power to my remote wire.
(The wire that only allows the radio to work when the care ignition is on.)
2) The radio has a fuse or maybe two.
But the auto mobile may have blown its fuse.
In my case it was the remote fuse.
3) I have had a bad ground and only need to find a good place.
4) I have even found insufficient power to my radio because too many devices were also using that power.
5) Heck I have even forgot to start the care or at least turn the ignition.
6) My battery was so dead it couldnt even power my radio.

This is the instruction manual for the ADV38 model:

That should give instructions on how to achieve this.

Jvc kd-g441 usb car stereo unit

Here's what Halford's told me to do; Remove the unit (by taking off the front bit, then using the keys to get the main bit out). You should see a red and a yellow power cable. Take the red and yellow cables out of the sockets, and swap them. This apparently re-orients the power and allows the unit to store data and resume playback etc more effectively. Hope it helps...

Unit will not turn on

This seems like you have accidently rewired part of your electrics. You may have wired the power wire into the wrong place, and also wired your electric door locks into your accessories. YOU NEED TO BACKTRACK. Find you doorlock wiring and get it back to a constant power supply. Best bet is to wire your power wire of unit to cigarette lighter by splicing the wires or jacking the outlet at the back. Here is a guide to install your stereo. Following those steps and see if you went wrong somewhere.
