My videos are very large

Videos I used to take previously of a similar length, say 15 minutes used to be around 100 GB in size but now they are over 400 GB. I've looked for a lower quality resolution setting on my Canon but can't find it.

SOURCE: How to acquire videos from camera?

very simple. you need to get an SD card reader from your local electronics store ( CC or Best buy). it's very simple. the memory card goes into the card reader and that ensemble plugs into any of the usb ports in your computer. once plugged in, the computer will recognize it as external memory, just like a flash/thumb drive and your comptuer can read the pictures off of the card without any interaction with the camera itself. you will be able to see both the picture and video files on the memory card. all you will need to do is copy the pictures or the videos, and paste them into any folder you wish. your computer should have no problem recognizing those files. and windows media player should not have a problem reading the video files either. with them on your computer you can just drag and drop them into any video editing software that you have. i have a canon sd750 and that's exactly what i do. works like a charm.

For any self respecting programmer/hacker, the instructions at http://users.utu.fi/paanni/camera.html maybe close to what you want.

SOURCE: Can't Download A Large File from Canon A560 Digital Camera

Get a card reader. The one pictured below is $13 at Walmart. Create a folder on your desktop. Insert your card into the card reader and the other end into a USB port on your computer. Drag and drop the video file into the folder you created. b957eb4.jpg

Testimonial: "Thank you for the great idea!! I am sure that will solve my problem. I am embarrassed to say that I did not know card readers existed!! Thank you!!"

SOURCE: File transfer issue in Canon IXUS 100is.

Using a card reader is not a solution. It's a workaround. It's useless to not be able to copy the files from your camera without a card reader. It's a problem that canon needs to adress.

IF I GOT 4GB on my mobil How many Gb I have used in a Video of nearly 5minuts to be finished?

Every video has different sizes depending on what format, quality, audio rate, and compression it has. For example, if I were to encode a video at 1920x1080 @26fps with 44k audio, it would be a rather large file, whereas if I were to encode the same video with 1024x768 @23fps with 23k audio, the file size could be half the size. Then you have to take into account what file type it is (AVI, MPEG, DIVX, etc) as each type compresses audio/video differently and will generally have different sizes accordingly.
To answer in short, yes, you could go through all 4GB in one video, but it's not likely. Most online videos are smaller, but it is likely you could go through it all in 3 - 5 videos, depending on if you watch them in 1080p.

I captured 6 video recordings, but only 4 will download. The two remaining ones are each 20mins in length. Only the short videos will down load to my computer.

I had a similar problem with my D-90 when I attempted to down load several video clips from the SD card in a card reader. Don't know why this happens but I was able to get the long clip by manually copying it from the SD card to a folder on my computer.
I then manually deleted the video file from my SD card. Until I read your problem, I could not figure out why that particular file would not download like the rest of them did. The other clips were 19 minutes but the long one was 22 minutes. It appears the limit for auto downloads may be 20 minutes. I have another camera that breaks long videos into 19-minute clips and I suspect the reason 19 minutes is the length is because of this aspect of Windows.

Recording problem video memory is too large

Resolution plays a part in the size of the video.
Avi takes up a lot of space.
Try any program that can save in mp4.

I was told tha I cold only record 10 minutes of my home movie on utube is this true? How can I record more?

Here are the limit in youtube video

Videos can be...
  • High Definition
  • Up to 2 GB in size.
  • Up to 15 minutes in length.
  • A wide variety of formats

If you keep on uploading nice video you might be chosen and removed the limitation. I believe its their system who analyze it or its manually done.

Hi..I've downloaded pictures and videos from my digital camera. I am able to send the pictures but not the vidoes.....can you help? Thank you, Rachel

I'm suspecting your internet service provider can't handle the large files (maybe the connection is too slow, or your email account has a file size limitation). Try to create a SMALL video file with your camera...literally no more than 1 or 2 seconds, so that it will have SMALL size. If possible, use a smaller/lower resolution video setting to help keep the file size down. Then upload the small file to your email. Check the file size to see the size as compared to the other videos, and your regular photos. If you are able to send it, and the size is similar to your photos, then it means that the other videos are just too big. (how big are those original video files you were having touble with?).

Playing large size 3gp videos

i think you should have to edit the video and reduce the video screen size to minimum.
Then the the video may run properly.

Video longer than 30 seconds?

Only the card size. The bigger the card the the bigger the file. your manual should tell you how many images or video length you can get on a given size of card.

Making videos under 100 mb

Depending on the programme that your'e using, you can alter the length of video capture time or the quality. If for example you use Windows Movie Maker 2, this can be altered in capture settings and if you are e-mailing the video; when it is saved it is automatically compressed without losing a lot of the quality.
