Automatic screen change for rear camera view

When i place my car in reverse the camera comes on but i have to press the menu button manually to change modes in order to view it on the monitor. How can i get this unit to change the monitor view mode automatic to camera, when put in reverse and back to previous when out of reverse. My reverse wire from the unit is connected to the power wire of the camera and to my reverse light wire.Like i said the camera comes on but the screen does not change.

Nothing in the manual other than the rev. wire.

This may be the way it was designed to operate. Have you checked the owners manual to see if there are instructions for making this automatic change?

If you need an owners manual let me know and I will send a link for a free one.

Kenwood KVT-617DVD - Rear Camera Option Not Working

Hi,

Since "...everything else is working..." indicates that there is no blown fuse or chances are nor any hardware is at fault.

When the battery was disconnected, the Kenwood KVT-617DVD may have suffered a memory failure and would require a reset.

Have you tried doing a reset? It's a small recessed button near the bottom right side of the font panel underneath the protection panel (right of the Joystick Track/Station Key & above the Eject Disc Key). Pressing the reset button should restore the Kenwood KVT-617DVD to default factory settings. Of course this will also remove any special programming that you may have such as favorite stations, etc.

You also posted "...Parking brake requirement...bypassed..." this is only to allow the display to be always ON. This is the green wire that must be grounded
You need also to check that the "Reverse" wire/trigger is also bypassed that is to set the "...camera...full time...rear view mirror and back-up monitor for the truck camper..." This is the pink wire that must be attached to the ACC of the vehicle's Ignition Switch. Alternately, it may be connected to the red wire of the Kenwood KVT-617DVD.

If the reset does not correct the problem, you may need to run the setup menu again following the user's manual. Should you need a copy, it is available on line here. Pls verify that you set R-Cam Interruption to ON & R-Cam Mirror to Reverse. This is better explained with appropriate illustrations in page 69 of the User's Manual.

Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

My screen has caution screen image may appear reversed how do I fix it

It's showing the rear camera display, but you don't have a camera connected.

Press the "home" button, then press the rear camera icon on the display. This will stop the display from defaulting to the rear camera input. Then go into the settings menu, find the rear camera setting and turn off the camera. That should disable the camera icon on the home menu.

Pioneer system says caution: screen may appear reversed? was working all day i went to walmart and it was fine then as i started my car when i was leaving this appeared with a black screen

That is the message you get when you are connected to a backup camera. When you put the car in reverse it will switch automatically if you have the reverse trigger hooked up. you can also switch to the camera while driving and use it as a rear view cam. Some backup cameras actually reverse the image while some do not. If you don't have a backup camera you need to turn that source off and it will stop appearing. I had the same unit in my car with the camera and it was great. Pioneer makes a nice camera but you can find a number of them from other makers that are just as good.

Clarion VX400 does not switch to camera input automatically when put in reverse

Check in the menu to ensure that no settings have been changed related to the camera and rear input.

If everything looks good there, then you need to have the installation checked to make sure no wiring has come loose or been cut.

I have a D3 system installed in my RV with side cameras. How do I get the rear camera and side cameras to display all the time?

Once you have your camera set up, press the map button on the left above the volume, if the navagation map comes up, press the map buttom again and you will be presented with other options that can be displayed including the view of the camera. Once you have it on that setting, every time you start your car, it will continue to show the cameras view until you change it.

What does the green/white wire connect to on my jensen vm9312hd? Says it is reverse +

Rear View Camera Input: The VM9313 features a composite video input and a green/white wire lead attached to the harness for connection of a rear view camera. If a rear-view video camera is connected, the unit is on, and the TFT monitor is retracted inside the unit, the TFT monitor automatically moves into the viewing position and Camera modes is selected upon shifting into Reverse gear. When shifting into Drive gear, the TFT monitor is retracted back inside the unit. If the monitor is already in a viewing position and in display mode, the monitor automatically switches to Camera mode upon shifting into Reverse. When the reverse driving stops, the monitor returns to its original input display mode. You can choose for the monitor to display a Mirror mode image or a Normal mode image from the rear-view camera.
