Audio output from my TV

I have both audio input and output on my TV, how would I hook up a set of wire headphones to my TV? I have my VCR, and DVD player hooked up as well, is this going to be a problem?

Take a red and white audio rca cable and cut off one end of the jacks. on the end you cut, solder a headphone output plug on. can also solder on the lines of a pair of headphones (where you've cut off the 1/8 in jack) directly to the rcv jacks.

Audio Books

There are several brands and publishers of audio books and you didn't identify yours. In most cases professionally produced audio books are separated into several 3-6 minute tracks. your CD player should just skip to the next using the button with the single arrow pointing to the vertical line. >l

When listening to audio books, If I'm using a cd player that doesn't retain the last track when shut off I make a mental note of the track number.

Hope this helps

How to use the line in on the sharper image s1738

I too believed the SI738 CD player had a "Line-in" feature. It does not. It has a headphone-out and subwoofer-out recepticle only. Now I have to switch this old unit for something newer in the bathroom.

When I plug head phone into the line in port no music comes through from CD player or FM/AM player

Headphones are OUTput devices, so they have no business being in the Line In.

The exact make/model and a look at the manual might explain what happens if anything IS conencted to Line In.

I bought my husband some wireless headphones. The

All you have is to connect the 3 wires from the cable that is for going to the phones jack, at the pins 1,3,4 of the scart a/v of the tv. Mention that the shield of the cable (the one is going at the big outer metal of the phones plug) must connect at the pin 4.Here is a pinout of the a/v pins
I suppose that a euro a/v (or scart a/v) to RCA or mini jack adaptor is posible to be found at your market so you don't have to make one by yourself.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post.

Not sure exactly what you are asking for, but:

The output jack is a headphone jack that is 1/8" diameter with the following pinout: tip = left channel, ring (next contact) is the right channel, sleeve (third larger contact area is the common/return for the left and right audio.

I need a small speaker to hook to the red and white jacks that normally connect to a TV

Cheapest ones are at Ross, the discount clothing, etc. store. They're made just for MP3 players and have a built in amplifier. About $20.

Music format

It's .wav format. However if you burn your MP3s as an audio disc (not an MP3 disc) with a program like Nero or Roxio Easy DVD Suite, then it will automatically convert them to .wav and burn them to CD and it will work with your CD player straight off.
