Same problem here. The subwoofer is authentic. There's nothing we can do, Logitech can't replace the control hub. You can either send in the whole system (including the subwoofer which weighs a ton) or buy a new one. I had mine for two months before this happened... $300 down the drain.

Hey I've had my Logitech z506 speakers for a few

I don't know for certain but, this is usually a sign of the overload circuit in operation. Speakers are not designed to be used on full volume constantly. Next time this happens try and turn them off for a couple of minutes, when you turn them on again try with the volume lower than when you turned them off. If you are regularly using them at full volume, then maybe it is time to invest in a more powerful set. Buy them by their RMS power output, NOT by their PMPO (peak mean power output) this is already an inflated figure and is usually about 4 times the real power output. I hope this helps.

No audio, no indicators but blinking green LED by power switch.

Replace elco C61 (68uF/450V) ; it is empty or almost empty.
Also remove the dark-brown glue carefully. The glue turns from light to dark brown by heat and becomes conductive (some Mohms)

Fuse blows after turning on control center

I have a similar problem on the Gigaworks S750 system. Upon opening, I have found that the IC driving the switch mode power supply becomes basically a short, and that the transformer becomes damaged as a result there of as well. Then you have about 22 Ohms connected to your mains (after the bridge rectifier) which causes the fuse to blow. Is there anyone that can assist with a circuit diagram for this system, or of contact details as to where I can find out what the specifications of the transformer is? Can not seem to find any technical assistance in South Africa

Logitech S500 Volume Knob Broken

The simplest thing to try is some compressed air directed to the knob. This would clear out any dust or dirt that may be obstructing the knob. I am not sure what you mean by power cut so I am shooting in the dark here. If you mean a power surge that caused the volume to quit working then I would suggest an external volume control such as http://www.amazon.com/Koss-155954-VC20-Volume-Control/dp/B00001P4XH/ref=pd_bbs_2/002-2257004-6895258?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1194009359&sr=8-2

Computer announces ''Jack is unplugged'' when the computer is

Yes, that very well can be causing the problem.
There are a number of ports that have individual power settings. If you look at them it will have the option "allow computer to turn this device off to save power"

Saving power is great for a laptop running on batteries, but not really necessary on a desktop PC that is plugged in.
Yes you will save a little power (so it can be a "green" thing to do) but you are not going to make a noticable difference in your power bill.

To test this, turn off all of your power savings settings (such as system standby after so long, hibernate etc) and see what the speakers do.

In all my years of doing computers, I have had more problems with systems "re-awakening" then I save by reducing power comsumption.

Rear and Centre speakers not working

The system comes with l remote which provides controls for "Power", "Master Volume", "Bass (Subwoofer) Volume" and "Matrix Mode" . Matrix mode allows you to spread stereo sound to all speakers where your sound card may not have the ability to do so.
I find that the "Stereo Surround" setting works best as opposed to the recommended "CMSS" setting

Suspected blown fuse somewhere but no sign of it

Am sure that the internal transformer is gone, You would have powered your speaker with a step up/step down transformer, you need to see a technician around you that can help you out, you need to replace a 220V-230V transformer in the speaker since your country requires that.

Speakers All Cut out Including Sub When Music is Played Loud

UNPLUG THE GREEN WIRE FROM THE COMPUTER AND PLUG IT INTO A CD PLAYER IF IT WORKS BETTER ON A CD PLAYER THAN THE COMPUTER IT SELF THERE MAYBE A PROBLEM WITH THE SOUND CARD AND ALSO TRY THESE STEPS I AM GOING TO GIVE YOU I AM SURE ONE OF THEM WILL WORK.

1. Please ensure that the all the connections between the satellite speakers and the subwoofer are firmly connected.
2. Next, please connect the green colored 3.5mm audio jack to another audio device such as an iPod or an MP3 player.
3. Ensure that the SoundTouch remote control is firmly connected to the back of the subwoofer.
4. Connect the power cord from the subwoofer and connect it to another single power outlet in your house. If you have an automated voltage regulator (AVR), please connect the power cord through the AVR instead of connecting it directly to a power outlet in your house.
5. Power up the speaker system and check whether the power button on the SoundTouch remote control will light up.
6. Turn on the Matrix Mode ON. This option is on the SoundTouch remote control. This is to ensure all speakers from the speaker system will produce audio that will be played from the audio device.
7. Play audio from the audio device. Check and see whether the all the speakers will produce audio being played from the audio device.

IF NONE WORK TRY THESE STEPS:
