Question about Kichler TRANSFORMERS - PROFESSIONAL SERIES - 15PR200-SS - Stainless Steel

1 Answer

KICHLER 15PR600SS I do not have any low voltage 12V, or 13V. 120 VAC has been checked and is going to the primary winding of the low voltage transformer. Is there some internal fuse or breaker? Is there any way I may obtain a schematic dwg of the 15PR600SS so that I can troubleshoot this problem. Is there a service manual available that I can download? Jerry

Here is a link to the specs for that trnsformer. It looks like there is only the switches for each circuit. Dumb question Are the load switches turned on?

This is all the info I could find on it for you. I hope this will help.

How do i set the Kichler 15E120BK landscape timer?

Depends on which timer.
Some Kichler have analog timer built in.
Most Kichler timers are made to run constantly... with option to plug your own timer into the outlet located on front of Kichler, or to plug in a kichler-model photoeye.

Schematic malibu 8100-9120-01

I don't think they post schematic for the transformer
But generally, the primary coil receives 120Volt AC input from household electrical outlet
And the secondary coil produces 12Volt AC output for the low voltage lights.
The 'coil' is a coil of insulated wire wrapped around a metal core. Two coils set side by side create a transformer... when primary is energized, the secondary responds to the magnetic field caused by primary core... resulting in a current that flows on the secondary coil.
Output voltage on secondary coil is determined by the number of wraps and diameter of wire.

Some transformers offer a choice of secondary output... Kichler for example... you can select 12-13-14-15 Volt AC output
This is achieved by the way the secondary coil is wrapped.... for less voltage a wire is tapped at one point on the coil... for more voltage, a wire is tapped at another point on coil. This gives the user several wire choices to connect the lights.

I am replacing the line cord on a malibu model 200 RT power pact and had to unsolder the power cord from a circuit board. I forgot to mark which was the white and which the black. I tink I can figurate...

For 120 AC, the white wire is the base/ground/chassis/common lead. The black would be connected to the otherwise isolated high/hot side. Look at both the timer circuit and the transformer primary/input - the white should be common/base to both.

I have a kichler 15pl300 where it does not transform from 120 Volts coming and it does not want to send out 12 V on the other side. The 120 volts has confirmed for be live.

I have been unable to locate manual for Kitchler low voltage products.
The troubleshoot page says check on-off switch, and put black tape over photoeye for two minutes, but does not elaborate on what to do.

Intermatic makes low voltage, so does Kitchler.
I don't know much about Kitchler brand.

When i plugg in my power pack it instantly tripps the breaker in my power box. i un plugged it and disconnected the wires it worked fine since june when i bought it. iturned it off over dec. because of...

Guess is that the primary winding on the transformer (in the box) has a shorted winding. No fix. Replace the transformer.... and be sure that the load (total wattage of the lights being serviced) does on exceed 90 percent of the power pack capacity.

Low voltage only or can timer be used for 110 v

1 hp= 750 watts
125 vac = 125 volts alternating current, wall outlets
5 amp= 5amps

125vac x 5amps= 625 watts

a timer is a switch with a clock on it. just like a switch in a lamp cord.
