All of a sudden stopped working

1992 model range GE microwave. Clock and all lights work but motor does not engage. Has it played out or could it be a simple fuse related issue?

Where do I find the interlock switch? Don't know anything about this stuff. Do I have to call someone in? Do you recommend a quality replacement if I have to purchase new one?

I would just recommend getting rid of the GE microwave and buying a different brand altogether (maybe LG). GE microwaves are known to be headaches. It would be cheaper to simply buy a new oven..

Not even worth repairing a miro that is 16 yrs, old by the time you get through trouble shooting and find a problem even something as simple as a $45 switch, youll wait 3 days to get. youd be better off buying a new unit . all the bi box stores will sell you one for under 200, if all your doing is reheating veggies and lleftovers

This will be an issue on the interlock switch. check if this area / part was not faulty or has the problem..

if this switch does not engaged the unit will not work.

GE Model # JVM7195SFSS microwave.

Check the internal ceramic fuse on the circuit board. Sometimes one section will work while another won't. I'm not sure if this model has a rear mounted thermal fuse, but the models with the inline thermal fuse will cause a similar issue.

I have GE Profile microwave model PVM1870SM1SS and last week while running, suddently it shut off. There is no power, display buttons and stopped running. Please advise.

From the description a major part has failed, the magnetron is suspect because it suddenly shut down in cycle, if the unit is less than 7 years old it probably has a inverter board and tends to fail, also there is the possibility the keypad control board has stopped working. The microwave in my opinion is worth getting checked out and repaired, but it will be expensive.

Have GE JVM2050 over the range microwave, which stopped heating food and water since this morning. All other functions including light, key pad, clock, turntable work normal. The magnetron sound also

if everything works except the heating, it is most likely the mag tube is on its way out.........that is the most common reason for it not too cook.......since the microwave is a GE and it is 3.5 years old, i would say you are better off buying a new microwave, the mag tube starts at around $70.00 and up + the labor it costs too have a service person put it in........around another $60.00

Over the range Microwave trouble

It is a door switch problem of some sort.  I have two Sharp R-1611 units that do the same thing.  The light and fan come on, but not the heat, thank goodness.

I am going to replace it since the plastic for the case and door is cracked in numerous places.  I have spent several hours researching microwaves online have not a single clue what to replace the Sharp with.  Seems like every vendor has very good units and very bad units.  I guess you just pay your money and take your chances.
