Question about Refrigerators
Hi, I'm having trouble with my fridge not being cold enough (Whirlpool WRX38RWH6). I've put a thermometer in the fridge and the temperature just isn't consistent - some days it is ok & others it gets really warm. The temperature control has the options "cold" and "colder". I've put it on "colder". The temperature control dial also has an option of "WPL(38/42)" ....do you know what that means?....any way of getting the fridge colder or do you think its just broken! ...... I was also having a problem where the fridge drips water from a vent just inside the top of the fridge at the front. I checked the drainage pipe inside the fridge & it isn't blocked - I've seen someone else has had this problem posted on this website & the solution was to check a drainage area in the freezer. Do you think this is related to the temperature issues I'm having?
Thanks for your help!

SOURCE: Refrigerator does not cool
If the refrigerator cooling is poor, it may be a problem with the thermostat, the compressor, or the evaporator fan. If ice is accumulating at the back of the fridge, that can also be a reason for poor cooling.
See aso the links below for a more detailed explanation:
It's not cool
Cooling is poor

sounds like a drain clog in the freezer compartment above. remove the freezer rear panel and totally defrost the evaporator area, directly under the evap you see( under all taht ice) a small drain hole that has become frozen over, try defrosting with either a hair dryer( not a heat gun too much heat youl melt everything) or by pouring hot water donw the drain until you get a free flow of water down the tube. after its clear reassemble and you should be fine

Michael, I live in an apartment that has this model. I had a similar problem that the apartment maintenance man concluded was a clogged vent. I don't no precisely what he did to fix it but it involved opening the vent compartment and cleaning it out. Be sure to take everything off the shelves of the refrigerator before your start because it makes a mess. Good luck.
