Question about GE Refrigerators

GE French Door handle loose

I have a GE Model PFS22MISBWW Profile style with French Doors and bottom freezer. The refrigerator is four years old. After one year old, the right door handle began to loosen. Sears said they would fix it, but that I'd be responsible for the service call and fees, as nothing was broken.
It looks like I need to remove the weatherstrip to open the door to tighten the bolt holding the handle to the door. Handle has no caps or trim to it. Anyone know how to remove the gasket??

To tighten the screw the first step is to remove the handle. With this model just pull straight up on the handle. It can take a little force but after it finally unclips it moves up an inch or two then pulls straight out. Good luck!

Worked like a charm, thanks! Just told my husband I would have been embarrassed to call service for that. It does some force to slide up.

look for a small hole on one side of the handle. There should be a set screw there you can tighten. (the handle attaches to a ball shaped peg under the handle, and does not attach from the inside of the door)

GE Energy Star French Door Bottom Freezer handle popped off

You cant find a hole to insert screw from outside. It is true, and you can't fix it yourself to what it looked like earlier. The company first screws in through the handle and then covers the hole made by it with the material of the handle. If you have to fix it yourself, you can only pierce those screws through the handle leaving the mark behind. If you don't want that, contact your company or dealer.

Hi, Please get me the model # from the label inside the refrigerator and I will look this up for you. Most handles have a set screw that tightens down.
