Cant remerber bios password on presario A900 laptop and cant unplug internal battery

Step 1:
Acer laptops are equipped with a BIOS utility. The BIOS (which stands for "Basic Input Output System") acts as an interface between the hardware and software installed on the computer. On some computers, a BIOS password may be required in order to boot the computer and make changes to the BIOS settings. If you are unable to access the BIOS settings and do not know how to reset the BIOS password, you might be tempted to send the computer back to the manufacturer for repair. Fortunately, that's not necessary as there is a simple way to do this on your own.

Go to "Start," then perform a search for "Command Prompt." The Windows Start button is located in the lower-left corner of your computer screen. Double-click on "Command Prompt" to open the application. You will need to use MS-DOS commands to reset the BIOS password. Type the following commands one by one in the order shown: debug o 70 2E o 71 FF quit Make sure that you are typing the letter "o" and not a zero at the beginning of the second and third commands. Reboot your computer by clicking "Start," "Shutdown," and then "Restart." The BIOS password will now be reset to default.

Input signal out of range

Hello

Boot the computer into SAFE MODE. Go to CONTROL PANEL - DISPLAY PROPERTIES. Change the screen resolution to a common size - like 800x600 or 1024*768 and save the settings. Reboot the computer.

Everything on the screen will be very large but you should be able to see the desktop and make additional changes. Go to CONTROL PANEL and DISPLAY PROPERTIES again, and change the screen resolution and click APPLY. This will change the resolution to the new settings and will give you the opportunity to revert back to the old setting if it does not work.

Once you hit APPLY - the screen will change. If you can see the screen, you will see the option to ACCEPT the changes or to REVERT back to the prior setting. If you do not choose anything, the system will revert to the prior setting automatically - typically in about 15 seconds.

Make changes to the screen until it appears as you want it, click ACCPET when you find the one you like.

I am testing my system with the diagnostic program, and now I am stuck with the message "The current timing is not supported by the monitor display. Please change your input timing to 1920x1080@60 Hz...

Right click on a blank area of the destop screen and select properties from the menu that pops up, adjust your monitor settings and refresh rate to that suggested and see if it helps. dont worry if you press something wrong and cant see properly, just dont press anything and the settings will revert back after 15 seconds.

Scroll button stuck so cant get password to get into my pc

Consider changing the mouse, and/or checking its cable connection. In the meantime, each press of the "Tab" key moves the cursor to another field asking for input.

I recieved a wireless router from a friend but it has a password on it. i asked my friend and he doesnt remember what it is. how can i log into the router to change the password?

there usually is a small recessed reset button on the back if you press and hold this for 5 secs while unplugged the router will revert to factory settings. (including clearing passwords)

you can then use the default connection details, which are usually published in the quick setup guide
this info may be replicated on the manufacturer's website

My Welcome Screen format has changed and not typical to my routine screen. This is random, but frequent

Hi rjjk45,

I'm guessing that instead of icons you're getting two lines of text for a username and password. Some programs, such as Symantec's pcAnywhere change some security settings and make that change. Try removing any recent programs you've installed and see if it reverts.

You can also try manually changing this. Go to your Control Panel and then to User Accounts. Select the option that says 'Change the way users log on' and you'll get two options. If 'Use the Welcome Screen' is not checked, check that box. If you can't check it or it is grayed out, then some recent software installation made that change.

If this isn't what you're experiencing, please provide the screenshot that smokeymatzo has asked about.
