Use the emergency eject feature. To do this:

  1. Straighten a paperclip
  2. Insert into the tiny hole on the face of the DVD tray (usually near the eject button)
  3. When you feel a bit of resistance, push the paperclip to eject the tray.
  4. The tray will open slightly, allowing you to gently ease it out manually, and you can then remove the DVD.
  5. Press the eject button to shut the CD/DVD tray again.

Rejected cd

If it does it to all disks you are using, it is likely that either the drive is bad, or you are putting them in upside down.

CD or DVD does not stay in drive when inserted. It comes out without reading it.

The lens in the reading head is covered in dust so the optical unit can't detect the disk so it rejects it. Clean it using something like this

No one has the driver for my am1620 acer aspire dvd supermulti player/recorder. Help!

You don't need a specific driver for your cd/dvd rom, it's included in the Windows. If you have problems go to start - settings - control panel - system - hardware tab - device manager and locate the line for cd/dvd rom devices. Click on the + at the beginning of the line in order to expand the drives, right click on the drive with the problems and choose uninstall. Reboot and your pc will reinstall the cd/dvd rom drivers.

HI There,

You need a freeware ISO Burner Program. Go to the link below and download the Free ISO Software from "Active". It's easy to learn and use.

My pc is rejecting all cd/dvd's. It was working perfectly until two days ago

Well! Beggars *CAN* be choosers!

Get a laser-cleaning CD and run that through the drive.

If you can't (or are too cheap) to get one of those, try leaving the drive-tray open overnight to see if it's just a condensation problem.

I HAVE A CDROM DVD I BOUGHT AT WALMART THAT COMES WITH NERO 7 ESSENTIALS AND I CANNOT LOAD IT UNTO MY COMPUTER BECAUSE THE SERIAL NUMBERS GIVEN ON THE SOFTWARE ARE ALL BEING REJECTED DURING INSTALATION.

Last time I bought a DVD and came with Nero, I did not have to enter any serial numbers, that is an OEM (original equip manuf) and should be able to install without them. Try skipping the serial if you can.

I have Norton 360. I am instructed to put in a new DVD for backup, but it is always rejected. I read on the Memorex box that the disc can be updated. It is DVD+R. Will you please help me?

DVD is actually a Licensing Authority which holds the patents and does licensing for the people who invented various aspects of DVD.  This is relevant because UDF 2.6 onwards (that would be the DVD filesystem) allows not only discs recorded in multiple sessions but updates including writing the same file with updated content...as long of course as there is room left on the recordable media.

What are you reading on the Memorex box anyhow?  I notice ' Re-Writeable' on DVD-R and +R all the time, though of course they're not rewriteable through normal ; maybe there's some thing where you they process them in an oven and reuse them, but it's unconsistent with the +R standard, and you should definitely double-check things at their website.  DVD+RW and +RAM have to be ' erased ' before they can be reused by doing a burn of that variety.  I am pretty sure you just need to buy more DVD+Rs or -RW or -RAM, and not expect to reuse +Rs you bought for 20 cents each.

The most important thing here of course is that you've given the wrong category; you should use or create one for Norton 360.
