Remove the bag assembly from the machine.Install the hose to the machine. The upholstery shampooer is simply a trigger assembly with a jar attached.Simply connect the back of the trigger ***'y to the end of the hose.On the attachment case is a cloth covered cap that goes on the other end of the trigger assembly. This is what creates the foam.Fill the jar with shampoo solution.Use the trigger to deposit the foam onto surface.Work the foam into fabric using soft cloth or brush. When it's dry, vacuum the foam and dirt out using the hose attachment on the suction side(front) of the machine

Below is a link to the GoodVac.com website. This link will take you to the "Online Kirby Vacuum Manual". The manual will instruct you in removing the carpet nozzle, replacing it with the hose and attaching the upholstery tool.

How do I shampoo my upholstery

Instructions are HERE. Try shampooing on a part of a furniture that is not visible much... sometimes this may not work well.

Kirby Manual

The spray gun instruction HERE but be very careful - try shampooing in an inconspicuous area first. This is essentially as if you would buy some of those "spray on" upholstery cleaners in an aerosol cans.

Good Luck,

I need to know how to use the attachments that came with the Kirby. I know how to use the shampoo/vacuum, but not the other attachments or the upholstery cleaner. Does anyone have any idea?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
1st, you need to un-hook the lever @ the top of the Kirby head, dial off the belt from the Kirby Vacuum Head using the Kirby emblem in the front of the vacuum, that also serves as a hook/spoon to dial the belt off the fan pulley. Once you have removed the vacuum head you now hook up the attachment hose to use the attachments by locking the attachment hose to the top lever. All regular Kirby attachment will fix on the attachment hose end including the spin brush if you have one with your Kirby --- using the Kirby Shampoo spray the soiled area and use the spin brush to agitate the carpet and or upholstery, try not to use to much water. If you have a Kirby shampooer – use the recovery tank on the exhaust port of the Kirby (this means that the cloth/paper bag needs to come off and install the clear recovery tank. Please refer to the Kirby owners manual for any type of trouble shooting that you might need – or please feel free to contact your local vacuum dealer in the yellow pages or contact your Kirby factory manufacturer listed below:

How do you use and what attachments for upholstery cleaning with the Heritage II

Kirby has a spin brush that is round on the newer Kirby’s and it works on the suction from the vacuum and it fits on the end of the vacuum hose but it does not fit into corners very well or your can take some Kirby shampoo in the spray water bottle and use a kitchen scrub brush for the corners. Other wise you can use the actually Kirby Shampooer of which is very hard and unfriendly; the spin brush would be my selection. You can check with your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area and also in the yellow pages. Also you can call the Kirby factory to see if they can direct you. The Kirby factory is listed below:

Need help with upholstery shampooing

Unfortunately Kirby don't seem to support their Australian customers at all, sorry. (best they offered was a phone number of a dealer in Capetown) If you have a friend in the US who could send it on to you then you could get a manual here; http://www.gottahavebags.com/Kirby/kirby_manual.html Unfortunately they wont ship direct to Oz. Same deal here, if you have a contact in the UK; http://www.kevco-europe.com/acatalog/kirby_instruction_manuals_europe.html They even offer the video as well, If you can post back with your general area, I could find you a nearby dealer that sells the ultimate G where you might be able to get some help. Hope this can help you out, if not please post back with your location :)
