Re-insert the Cassette error!!!

When I try to go and look at the stuff that I filmed on the camera, a message comes on saying re-insert the cassette so I re-insert it. Then it either say re-insert the cassete, or please re-attatch the power sourse. I do that and again the sane thing happens over and over, i've tried to clean it too. Still nothing! I don't know why it's doing this, anyone else had this problem before and know how to fix it?Thanks.

I have the same problem...camcorder worked great for 5 years and while I was recording today it just stopped working and the re-insert cassette error message keeps popping up. I have tried the reset button but I can't get it to work again.

SOURCE: inserted cassete in wrong way in Sony camcorder CCDTRV68, not ejecting cassette Error codeC32:20

Sony camcorders C:31:23 error
Take the battery out and turn selection switch to camera and then turn it off. Put the battery back in and its working again.
if that doesn't work try
Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times.
good luck

I get an eject symbol and beep and error code c32:11, original issue was that it ate a tape

Hi,
The error C 32:11 denotes for mechanical unsuitability, This problem appears when the improper insertion of the cassette been done, or lose cassette tape stuck,
In all these situations mechanical adjustment is required, You are suggested to please contact any expert for the mechanical adjustment.
Hope you will understand my sayings.

Error C31:40 will not take in a cassette

After not using my camera (Sony HVR-V1U) for one week, I took it out for an assignment but the error keeps coming up C:31:40 asking me to eject the cassette. The camera never gave me problems before this.I have tried smacking it at the bottom with the flat of my hand, flowing it with a hair dryer, shaking it, opening the cassette door for hours but nothing seems to work. The sony technician says I may have to send it in for repairs can any one help before I have to resort to this?

  1. I'm having the exact same problem. It wont accept the cassette...only half way then errors. It will close fully without a cassette as well. hmmmmm
Comment by Guest, posted on Apr 02, 2008 Load cassette, turn it on, then message says re-load cassette. Door to cassette compartment only works half way. After fiddling with power, can get the cassette door to open and close all the way, but not with cassette. Tried several brands of cassettes, no joy.

Film doesn't develop

check your camer without film:

1). open the back, use different combinations of film speeds, shutter speeds and apartures. if you can see light coming in from the lens, no matter how little light and how fast.
2). check that film advances or not. if you camera detects film and loads automatically, insert any expired film cassette, or badly developed film and roll it back into cassette.
3). send it for service if either one or both gives you an answer of "N".
