Condensation moisture error icon (tear drop) on for some time, I do not think I have ever had a real condensation or moisture issue but have let the camera dry for weeks, error still appears, can you help...

Blow into the cassette compartment with a hair dryer , do not use too much heat but just to warm up. The dew sensor is fitted near to the drum assembly. this is to prevent the tape being chewed up if there is condensation. The dew switch can go defective inmany cases and can be destabilised. so if after heating the fault changes you can find this small black piece of a conducting medium exposed. Remove the solder of one side and check.

Sony handycam dcr-dvd105 has error message c21:00 moisture condensation. It has been like this for a week. My last use worked fine. I had stored it at room temp inside.

No knowing how old or condition of your equipment is ... its hard to suggest a solution. But the dew sensor of sony equipment tends to get dirty very quickly ... needs to be clean with a q-tip & alcohol every couple of years.

I have condensation. I have tried letting it sit with the tape part open and it still has consebsation

Use a hairdryer ( carefully not to overheat) to remove any condensation and get it going. When in storage put some of those silicon beads that come in some packaging , alongside your camera. this will reduce the condensation factor and prevent the activation of the dew sensor from stopping your camera from not working when needed.

My nice old reliable DCR-PC101 won't fire up as it is giving me the condensation warning (won't load a mini DV) and it is clearly "dry". What is up with that? I have hit reset button - removed battery etc....

What's the error code? You said "condensation warning", I assumed its C21:00. Lots of smacking required have been posted for the problem. Try this one ... Here's link to a picture of typical moisture sensor. clean it with a q-tip and alcohol. (

Sony camcorder

condensation is the situation where a sensor detects presence of moisture inside that is hazardous to the gadget, this will not be removed if no air flow can get inside, best way is to open any side and blow hot air inside. Not hot that can damage some parts.

Condensation Problems?

This is a fairly common problem. It requires solder rework of the fpc cable connector form the loading motor ass'y. The sensor is not being properly detected, normally low resistence, located on the ass'y. It is not an amateur repair. Better seek a pro. Good luck, magic seadog

Reinsert tape (ah)

its not condensation, perhaps on the tape, but not in the camcorder. i have the same damn problem and its really pissing me off. im a truck driver and when i see something i want the thing to work!! anyways, ive tried to take the tape out and wind the actual tape in the tape tighter by spinning the ummm, things haha. if you take out the tape thats not working and put in a new tape it works. also, theres no condensation in my big rig, its hotter then a barn in here and i have a nice leather case for my cam corder. so this problem is a pure design flaw and im pissed. peace out.

Camcorder shows condensation problem most of the time

Its a possibility that the sensor could be bad but I'll bet that its a small surface mounted capacitor thats bad. These are common for the caps to go bad, and when they do start to leak, the camcorder should be taken into the shop asap, AS THE LONGER YOU WAIT THE MORE DAMAGE the Capacitors will cause, as they eat up the tiny traces on the board and then the board has to be replaced. Good Luck
