Question about Refrigerators

1 Answer

I just started to hear this clicking noise coming from the back of my GE refrigerator. My icemachine/water will not work either. It seems like things are starting to melt in the freezer also.

No water or ice from dispenser, constant clicking, frozen good are thawing

I started having the same problem a few days ago--compressor keeps humming and clicking about every 2-3 minutes. It stopped cooling and freezing altogether last night. The refrigerator is only 3 1/2 years old. Not every good a thing, but ESPECIALLY disappointing after paying so much for it.

    Jenn-Air JSD2690HES.

Compressor stopped working...and only 3 1/2 years old.

Jenn-Air will replace the compressor - but I pay the labor. Can't believe a refrigerator this expensive has these kinds of problems. Used to have Kenmore and Amana - absolutely no problems!

Water Dispenser on GE Profile Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Not Working

When you press the water dispenser button, do you hear a noise like water is trying to come as usual. If so then your problem might be frozen chill water tank or failed chill water valve. If you don't hear the regular noise then the problem might be with the dispenser unit.

Appliance Repair Boise - GE refrigerator making clcking noise

When you hear your GE Profile refrigerator making a clicking noise, coming from the back/rear of refrigerator, your refrigerator control board is bad. If your refrigerator and freezer are still cooling then you are lucky and you might have a few days to get that control board replaced. The clicking sound you're hearing most of the time, comes from a small panel located on the rear of refrigerator. Remove 3 screws and replace.

A buzzing or humming noise just started. I checked the ice maker and don't see a problem. The noise seems to be coming from the freezer side but I hear it on the refrig side as well.

Clciking noise

I was having the same problem.

I read on fixya that there is a reliability issue with many models.

I called GE customer service. They sent a repair guy who swapped out the motherboard at no charge even though it was out of warranty.

Works great now.

2 of my neighbors' friges went out in the summer here in Las Vegas. They both lost all their food.

He said I was lucky because after the clicking noise begins, the motherboard usually crashes the next day. Mine clicked for a month.
