Noisy operation and black marks on left side of printed paper
After over 2 years of happy running, the printer started making a loud thumping noise during warm up and whenever printing (basically when the machine is in motion). Also, wide grey bands are printing on (mostly) the left side of the printed page.

Vacuum out the waste toner passages that lead from the drum and transfer belt to the waste toner container. Toner is building up inside the transfer belt and/or drum and has no place to go except onto your paper.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

<p>Unexpected noise (such as clicking, thumping, or grinding) from an branded device are heard during printer operation.<br />
<span><b>NOTE: </b></span><br />
Noises can be caused by a number of things, some of which may not be addressed in this document. This document deals strictly with the isolation and potential resolution of known noises through troubleshooting.<br />
<p>The following table describes some of the noises to be expected in a printer functioning normally:<br />
<span>Noise occurs:</span> <br />
<span>Additional information:</span> <br />
During power-up<br />
When the printer periodically makes humming and buzzing sounds as the carriage assembly moves around on the right/left side of the printer, the printer is actually cleaning the ink cartridges. This is a normal operation for the printer. This sequence may happen in the following conditions:<br /><br /><br />
<p>Before and/or after printing<br />
<p>During power on <br />
<p>After the printer has been on standby/idle for some time<br />
<p>After replacing a cartridge<br />
<p>In the middle of a long print job (such as printing many photos)<br /></li></ul>
During printing*<br />
<p>Paper pickup: There will be some noise during paper pickup due to the movement of rollers and gears.<br />
<p>While printing: The unit has printed a few lines or the paper has been fed into the printing area. There will be some noise during printing due to the movement of rollers, gears, carriage and paper (paper feed and ejection).<br /></li></ul>
During paper ejection*<br />
At the end of the print job, there is a louder clicking noise as the paper is being "pushed off" to the output tray.<br />
During copying/scanning<br />
The scanner may make pulsing and dragging noises as it scans portions of the document or it may make a long rolling sound if it is doing a continuous scan. After scanning, it will make a long dragging noise as the scanner is brought back to the home position (could be on the left or right side).<br />
Post-printing with no additional jobs in the queue<br />
Post-completion of a print job and without another job in queue: At the end of a print job, there will be a noise on the left/right side of the printer as the pens are being capped. The printer may try to do this a couple of times, which is normal.<br />
Between print jobs<br />
The printer may make humming and buzzing sounds as the carriage assembly moves around on the right/ left side of the printer during the cleaning of the ink cartridges.<br />
In the accessories<br />
There may be some noise associated with accessories (ADF, duplexer, etc.) during the initial positioning and during normal operation.<br />
Good morning! It's common to hear a loud thumping noise during spinning because the load (clothes) are not properly place in the tub. Please try to put the load in order & compress it down. best regards.
i believed this issue is on the mechanical side of the printer.if the grinding noise is very noisy if you still have the warranty of the printer you can go ahead an ask for the replacement of the printer coz it is an issue with the mechanical part of the printer..
If you are not a technical person best thing to do is to show it to an expert. grinding noise means some part in the machine is running with the friction. and might brake something or scratch something. Find out persons who work on photocopiers in your area either samsung or Xerox. as this model comes with both the companies and Xerox people are generly better than samsung people.
There are several things in the front that could be making that noise. The transfer roller, paper guide/top ublique roller and front obligue roller which is on the left side front. It is hard to say. I guess the printer is printing OK. If not what is the printer doing? Do you get any paper jams? Printing light? Can you rub the print off the paper? Any labels stuck? Please answer questions so I can help you. My guess is a roller problem. Which one is hard to say since I can't hear the printer myself.
