Pull out your memory card, and find the little gray slide switch, if it is away from card connection it is locked, slide switch (little gray slide switch) toward the card connection. This will unlock your memory card.

Get card locked message when I turn camera on. Can't turn the message off,\.

Look at your memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

I have a card locked message

You need to unlock your card. If you take the card out of the camera you will see a little notch on one side of the card. Move the little notch and your card will be unlocked. The reason for the card being able to be locked is so that if you have important stuff on there you can lock it so nothing can be changed.

I am getting a "card Locked" message

Remove the SD Card from the camera. On the side of the card is usually a gray colored slide. The slide is probably in the lock position and you simply slide id down usually to unlock it.

Check this and re-insert card and turn camera on. If the card IS unlocked it is possible the card slot or the detection circuit is not working.

Pull the card out of the camera and slide the tiny slide switch on the card to the other position. All the SD-type cards that I have met have this lock on them.

Hi there.
Turn the camera on and go into the setup menu, look down the list for "reset" and reset it, then try another camera card.
Please post back the results.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

Locked memory card

Hi there,

Your camera is telling you the lock switch on the card is locked.

Take the card out of your camera and look on the side. There will be a little switch. One side of the switch says locked and the other side says unlocked. Move the switch from the locked position to the unlocked position and it will work for you.
