Stereo Code Cards are usually located in the glove box. The code card looks like a credit card. Your local dealership should be able to retrieve the stereo code from the VIN of your vehicle. Or the serial number of the stereo may be needed. Most parts dept. will help at no charge.

How to reset security code for a 1997 mercedes benz c230

Check the manual for the security code for your vehicle. I'm pretty sure it's a 5 digit code. If you locate it, enter the code into your stereo. You may have to take it to a Mercedes dealer if you cannot find it. If you do have to take it to the dealer, pull the radio out and get the serial number from the side of the radio, the service tech will charge you big bucks if you make him do it. I hope this helps =)

The radio SERIAL NUMBER is required for a code
First remove the radio from the dashboard.
Then post the radio make+model plus all the letters+numbers on any labels, barcodes or stamped in the metal casing.
This information can then be used to see if a code can be calculated

1998 Mercedes ML320 Radio code instructions

does your radio ask for the code when you turn on the ignition key. If you see _ _ _ _ or **** you should enter the code using the pre set numbers for your radio, ie, first code should be entered using the first pre set key on the radio ( number one ).
Followed by the second code number being entered using the second pre set button and so on until all of the code is entered.
After entering the full code the radio should accept, if not enter code again and press the next pre set key following, ie, if the code is 4 digits, press the fifth.
Hope this works.
If all this fails most garages will set the security code for you for a small charge. Make sure you take proof of car ownership otherwise they will normally refuse to reset the code. This is to foil theft.
