Question about Refrigerators
Ice maker will ot make ice. These are on frige door: TPX24PR, TPX24BR, TPX25BI, TPX24SI te unit is approximately 5 years old.

This sounds like the float mechanism has gone bad. Remove it and have a look. It may be the float or the switch on it that is bad. There is also a solenoid valve. Parts kits are available. Shut off the water first!

If you add some water there, yourself. It should make some ice for you, untill the water runs out.

SOURCE: Ice maker only makes crushed ice
Pull the ice bucket out. Behind it you will see a rectangular hole with a rod in it. The rod should be able to move with your one finger up and down. If it does not, the solonoid attached to it is either frozen or burnt out.

I would be inclined to simply remove power to it, unless you are trying to make more space inside.

Keep in mind that older fridges and freezers were made with some nasty chemicals for the refrigerant, if you pierce the plastic body with anything make sure you get the room well ventilated at a minimum and keep any family well out the way while your repair it.
