Hi Wendy, According to the user guide for your printer, the only 2 cartridges that you can use is CL51 and CL52. From my references, the PG-40 cart doesn't go to your printer. If you are having trouble with your printer printing black, then you would have to replace the CL-51 Cart. I would make sure that the heads are clean before running out for a new cartridge. You should be able to do a "Printhead Clean" from the settings. Hope this helps. Let us know if we have helped you with your question. Mac =)
Most likely your Mag-stripe info is missing from the card project in IDworks. If you imported your projects from preface, its likly the box to include mag-stripe config was not transfer d. enter idworks designer and click VIEW then field connections, there should be some info tied you mag-stripe field 1,2, or 3 of not there is the problem.
Next check printer plug ins in IDworks admin to make sure the mag-stripe plugin is installed. Also i would check Datacard.com Download section make sure you have newest and correct driver for your OS if none of this works, uninstall everything (exporting projects) and reinstall.
Mag-strpe encoders can become defective, the encoder may need to be replaced.
You may have bent or broken a sensor wire. Check how the other (color) side looks by removing cartridge and confirm that nothing is awry. Otherwise, clean the metal contacts on both printer (power off and unplug) and cartridge with rubbing alchohol and a cotton swab, then try again.
Hi, I suggest that you reinstall that printer. First, please follow the steps below to remove the existed printer driver. 1. Click the "Start" button, type PRINTER in the search box and press Enter. 2. Find the icons which are related to Lexmark 3500/4500, and delete them. 3. Right-click on the blank part of the window, and choose "Run as administrator"->"Server Properties". 4. On the Drivers tab, select the listed printer and click the Remove button. Please then select Remove driver and driver package. 5. Open Start menu, input APPWIZ.CPL in the Search box and press ENTER to launch "Programs and Features". 6. Try to remove all related printer software. Then, download the latest driver from the following website and install it. Lexmark - United States - Product Selector Thanks!
What you could try do is to remove both cartridges, close cartridges cover
Unplug printer for awhile, at least 30 minutes
Plug in printer and wait until printer stop
Reinstall both cartridges
This is to let the printer reset and do a new installation of ink cartridges
