Question about Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO (F5D9230-4) Router (1010835)

Booted off aol

Since installing this model on my wireless system, my sweetheart keeps getting bumped off aol while playing poker in one of the gamerooms. It also happens at random times when I'm online. The two computers are a Systemax running Windows ME amd an HP Pavilion running Home XP. Service is by Comcast Broadband. Running on IE through comcast.net as home page does not result in boot-offs. Just when we run AOL direct. Is it a router problem, an installation problem, a broadband (Comcast) problem, or an AOL problem. Occasionally get a message which says "guest forcibly removed by Remote Host.," whatever that means. Any thoughts?

That means either AOL or the poker gameroom server is having a problem.
you can get the website fromt the URL. when you are at the game room.
get out of AOL and just type in the URL, and go direct.
if you still have the same problem, then it is the gameroom server.
not much we can do, expect for you to find a another poker gameroom.

Check the wireless access points around your area/home, see if they are broadcasting on the same channel as your router, if so change yours to a different unused channel.

Connection probs

i assume that you are using an AOL modem/router. if so, in order for you not to hardwire your laptop is you need to connect it wirelessly. but you need to make sure that your aol device has wireless capability as well as your laptop. i will not be able to provide you the step by step solution since i don't know the exact model of your devices, but all you need to do is locate the wireless icon/connection on your laptop (usually there's an icon for the wireless icon located at the task bar of your screen for windows computer but with mac, you need to make sure that the airport is on) and view the available networks. your laptop should be able to detect the wireless signal coming from your aol device and all you need to do is connect to it

hope this'll help you but if you need more information, just provide the exact model of your devices.

ciao!

Router problem

hi sir,

check your wireless router brand/model and try to take note of it. you should visit www.portforward.com, go to GUIDES then Port Forwarding Guides by Router, browse the brand and model of your router then select your application you want to run(ex. Texas Poker). It has the step by step guide how to porward port 9339.

If not in there, try to do this manually by accessing your router's web configurator, (ex. http://192.168.1.1 in internet explorer address bar). Go to portforwarding menu...just add an HTTP with named Texas Poker, also enter port number 9339 for it's port assignment.
