Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer
Can't get the bugger to reset. Husband tuned water off without me knowing. I started a load of wash and boom, the washer detected no water and started flashing error. I unplugged for over 5 hours, turned water on. Pressed the cancel button twice. Have held it in for minutes. Have tuned it to another cycle pressing 4 times within 20 seconds and it WILL NOT RESET. How long can it hold a memory unplugged? Is there an overide to open the door and get the nasty, wet, dirty cloths out? Thanx so Much, Shells
Yes, I fixed it after 10 hours of attempting. I called Whirlpool who in turn told me to call a Tech out to the house. I talked with a Whirlpool Rep who was at our local Lowe's, she in turn called their Whirlpool Guru who told her, there is NO override or manual way to fix the lock up unit/problem other than calling a Technician.
Well, I beg to differ. I took the panel off a 2nd time, looked for a pull, which there wasn't one, so I keeped feeling around the lock from the inside of the washer. I looked for anything that would move, press together, pull down and walla, bingo, I found a piece of metal that I pulled on and it released the door!!!!!!! Yahoo, then while the door was opened, I plugged the unit into the AC, it recognized that the door was unclocked, then I turned it to spin and rinse after it started flashing the F 11 code. I knew from this site, that it meant my soap had leaked into the unit. After running the rinse cycle, I am so proud to report that the machine is back up and running!!!!!
I thought, how awful not to have an external manual release, what if a kid got locked in the unit. Yes, a kid. My brother and I use to tumble in the dryer...lol Kids do, do dumb things. So even if Whirlpool tells you it can't be done, without a technician YOU can do it!!!! I'm a 60 year old woman and proud of it....Thanx FixYa
