Kodak printer jammed

I have a Kodak Easy Share printer and I put in a new printer cartridge it jammed. The film is wound tight on a metal bar and we can only get small pieces of it out using tweezers. This process could take forever. Can you help us?

We are not able to pull out the roller that the film is wound around. We have pulled the casing apart and still can't pull the film that is wrapped around the roller off. Please advise further.

Our Kodak printer is a 500. The site you gave us was no help. There must be a way to remove all of that film. Can the bottom come apart to give more room to work?

The paper tray is not the problem, it is the color cartridge that we pulled out and all the film stayed inside. How do we get the film out that is wound tight inside?

Cut all the film using a sharp cutter/blade

    use cutter
the bottom of a printer usually contain the ink spill-over pads and power supply compartment.
the roler might still be covered from the bottom
    remove the paper tray

i suggest that you to just take to whatever opening you can use from their.
don't rush fixing it, you might end up to more problem soon if you rush!

Dear Sir/madam,

If a color cartridge jam occurs the cartridge light flashes red.

1. Open the color cartridge door.

2. Push up on the green lever and remove the color cartridge.

3.Remove the slack in the color cartridge by pushing in on the spool, then rotating the cartridge spool in the direction of the arrow.

4. Reinstall the color cartridge (see Loading the Color Cartridge).

thanks
goodluck

Sounds like you have a Printer Dock and some jammed paper? If that is the situation, the cause and solution may include the following:

If the paper light is blinking or glows a steady red, it indicates a possible paper jam. You can fix the problem by the following:

- Remove the paper tray.
- Disconnect the power from the printer for 5 seconds, then reconnect the power. If paper does not automatically eject, carefully remove the paper manually. It may be tight as the roller is fully engaged to eliminate any movement when printing. Hold the printer and firmly but gently pull the paper free. The rollers should move slowly as you remove the paper. Do not yank the paper as that will dislodge the rollers and gears.

IMPORTANT: Be sure to check the paper slot on the back of the printer dock for any jammed paper.

- Remove any paper supply from the paper tray and "Fan" the paper to keep the sheets from sticking together.
- Reload the paper tray.

IMPORTANT: Do not load paper above the fill line located on the inside of the paper tray.

Reinstall the paper tray, then press the Print button to resume printing.

IMPORTANT: The color cartridge may lock in place if there is a paper error. Do not attempt to remove the color cartridge without first clearing the paper error. Make sure the Paper light is off before attempting to remove the color cartridge.

After clearing a paper error, you may::

- Remove the color cartridge.
- Remove any slack from the ribbon, then reinstall the cartridge.
- Press the Print button to resume printing.

You can try cleaning the cartridge nozzle and contact srip, after powr off, and then go for cleaning the internal area viz. Carriage rack, roller and then insert the Cartridge firmly.

Then replug the printer and start the print, let me know the status.

And for the film you are talking about may be the roller worn out. It will be only replaced with a new one.

There is not much to do.

All youy have to do is either keeping with patience with the tweezers, hoping that printer will work afterward, or take the printer to a technician so that it can be disassembled completely and fixed.

The only little help that I can give you is this link How to clear a cartridge jam on a Kodak
    \
The procedure illustrated is for a G600, but it is not much different from what you have to do on any jammed kodak.

On an easyshare 500 there is no way to remove a jammed cartridge, other than slowly yanking out all the fragments of film wrapped and stuck inside the printer.

Both service manual and Kodak support say the same thing. Only instructions are

"Clear the jam , then press button to proceed"

By disassembling the printer you will still have to do the removal (I know that will be easier), but there is also a good chance that you are going to damage the printer.

Kadak Easy Share 5300 printer. Screen reads "Please wait"-stuck

Try this one
Take out the inks and printhead
Leave the cartridge door open, then unplug the power cord from the back of the printer while the access door is open
Close the cartridge door once the cord is unplugged
Reconnect the powercord, turn on the printer, then your printer will look for your printhead "Printhead missing or not installed correctly..."
Then put everything back. make sure it will snap in to place. Then print a calibration page, then scan it. This is just over writing the error message.
Thanks Josh - Kodak Tech Support

Could not load software. Paper jam damaged print head.

Do the right thing, sell it on eBay but tell it like it is in the ad. Someone is bound to buy it and fix it.

New ink cartridge for Kodak Easy Share 5300 will not work

The version of firmware you originally had on the printer when you changed the ink cartridge was bad. There is a known issue that when you put in a new ink cartridge when the printer is in the error state "COLOR INK EMPTY. REPLACE COLOR INK CARTRIDGE" the unit writes that value to the new ink cartridge so you will continue to have that error.

So to fix your problem Open the access door and Remove the ink cartridges. Then download and install the new Firmware. Heres the link.

Kodak AiO 5300 Firmware

Then sadly you have to go get another new ink tank and install it.

If you can get through to kodak you should request reimbursement of some sort like a free set of ink tanks.

I hope this helps
