Question about Dynalink (V1456VQH) Modem

1 Answer

Adsl connection I have a dynalink adsl modem that was working fine up till my line was damaged by the road contractor. It was fixed by telecom and only the phone is back to service. After this I had not being able to get dsl and ppp up. LAN is ok connecting to my laptop or desktop. Line is perfect according to telecom line test result. They even went on to change port at the dslam, replace splitter but to no success. Only one phone at home. Is there any such problem that someone had dealt with successfully? What to do?

Have the phone company check the line for "ring and tip" make sure they are the same as before, I suspect that the wire is reversed. the telephone don't care how the wire is run.

Telecom Issue, when a Netgear router (DG834G) linked to a small server unit, dissconnects the telephone line. The router works fine but no dial tone on the phone side of the micro filter. Any assistan

a POTs (plain old telephone) line should never be connected to a router. that adsl filter does not make a phone line share a data line.
ADSL is a type of internet service supplied over a phone line. think of it as raw (unusable) when its on the phone line. then you use your dsl filter/splitter to feed the raw internet into a special dsl modem and the other port can be used by a standard phone.

you will know a dsl modem when you see it because its uplink or internet port will only be big enough to fit a phone cord into, not an internet cord. these dsl modems then feed usable internet to your routers and all devices on your network. but, like i said before, at this point it is too late for your phone and internet to share the same wire.

OK, thats not entirely true

pin out of RJ45 internet
1=orange/white *
2=orange *
3=green/white *
4=blue
5=blue/white
6=green *
7=brown/white
8=brown

1,2,3+6 are used in a typical network

if your network is typical you can "get fancy" and use 4,5,7+8 for telephone or even put 2 data lines on the same wire (not recommended for long distances). however, this may involve cutting some wires and splicing them together or something.

It seems the Dynalink Analog Modem doen't support wi-fi. You'll need both a wireless router/modem and a wireless network card in order to be able to connect using a wireless signal.

Wireless facility does not work LED does not illuminate. I have tried to get access to web site

The connection to your modem could be faulty.
Ring your ISP and get them to test the connection to your ADSL modem.
Also do you have ADSL line filters on all your phones?
The phone connection to the ADSL modem does NOT use a ADSL filter.

Can not get my adsl modem to connect through ASUS wireless router

it could be the modem and the router has the same ip address. the asus router has an ip of 192.168.1.1, check if the dynalink modem has an ip of 192.168.1.x. if so, change the router's ip to 192.168.x.x (e.g. 192.168.2.1) then see if you'll be able to connect to the internet while the modem is connected to the wan port of the router
