Question about Bosch Refrigerators

1 Answer

I have a Bosch upright freestanding frost free freezer. Moedl number GSU 3401. It is about ten years old and has functioned perfectly until a few nights ago. The temperature keeps rising which sets off the alarm. It only seems to maintain the correct temperature if the superfreeze is kept on. As soon as we stop the superfreeze the temperature rises and then the alarm goes off again. Any clues?

Look inside the back wall of the freezer to see if you have a layer of frost building. If yes this will indicate that the refrigerator is missing its defrost cycle. When you miss defrost it is usally number 1 the defrost control. Number 2 is the defrost heater has burned out and #3 the defrost thermostat. For you to look up the correct replacement parts you will need to find your refrigerators model number found most times inside the fresh food compartment. I have a bosch fridge freezer model kgu3220 gb. It is ten years old. For the last few days, the fridge isn't cooling but the freezer works fine. The temperature on control panel is stuck on 11 degrees. I...

Once the fridge is shut OFF for few hours to defrost and then switched ON , if the fridge works with cooling , then the fault is with the AUTO DEFROST TIMER or the circuit -maybe the heater, break in the lines to the timer, heater, the fan.
The build up frost will block the flow of cool air to the fridge from the freezer evaporator.
So remove and check.

Food defrosted in top of upright freezer

Hello,

Sounds like a defective defrost timer

If its a frost free upright freezer and the evaporator is frosting up with a snow like frost you have a defrost problem.. defrost thermostat, heaters, or trimmer

Dirty condenser coils are not the problem. It's most likely the defrost timer or defrost heater. The heater should come on about 3 times per day to melt the ice on the evaporator coils. If the defrost timer is not turning on the heater or the heater is burnt out, the coils will freeze up

Hope this helpout and Good luck

Freezer building up with frost

Sounds like the defrosting system has a faulty timer/board, faulty heating element or bad electrical connections to these components.

More info, let me know...

Servis fridge / frezer not colling or freezing

i would firstly do a complete defrost- incase there has been a fault with the frost free system. if after a full defrost it runs ok then there was a fault somewhere in the defrost system including either defrost heater, cut out or possible jammed circulation fan.
