Question about Canon PIXMA iP4300 InkJet Photo Printer

1 Answer

Cannot delete print job

I saw a similar issue posted under a generic print issue, but the solution was only provided for a PC. I have a Canon Pixma iP4300 on a Mac and have not been able to delete a item from the print queue. It currently reads "on hold" and that it was "completed" but I can't "resume" or "delete" it. Thanks

Thanks, although it didn't solve the issue. I followed steps 1-3, disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable from the printer and computer. It didn't start printing the job and the job remains on hold in the queue. What is the next step? thank you

I went through all of the steps on hp and the last one with deleting and adding the printer finally worked. Thanks!

Follow these steps in the order presented to resolve the issue. After you have resolved the issue, you do not need to complete any remaining steps. Step one: Check the USB cable

  1. Disconnect the USB cable from the product, and then disconnect it from the computer.
  2. Wait 10 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the USB cable to the product, and then reconnect it to the computer.
After you connect the product directly to the computer, the product should start printing the jobs in the print queue. If the issue continues, proceed to the next step. /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin-top:0in; mso-para-margin-right:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:10.0pt; mso-para-margin-left:0in; line-height:115%; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;}

Canon pixma ip 3000 will not exit the error mode. every time i try to rest it it retunrs, any ideas?

Try turning it off at the mains, it should re set the printer.

Also you can if you have any print jobs in the printer que delete them, you can find that by going to your system tray, normaly if there are items waiting to be printed your printer should be residing there, right click it & choose your printer, from within the screens that are open you should see print jobs in que, select them & delete them

How to delete past jobs?

This is the method to delete print jobs in the Queue by Microsoft.
If this is not working, then try this method.
Press Winkey+r
In the run dialog write msconfig
An other dialog-box will appear, there you will see many tabs (Click Services)
In the list find "Print Spooler" (UNCHECK it)
Click Apply,
Restart Your PC, and turn on the service again by Checking it (It may Start Automatically)
Another Method:
Open your C:\ Driver
Goto Windows folder
Then System32 folder
Goto spool folder
In the spool folder there will be a folder named PRINTERS
Delete all the files in that Folder.
You are done.
Hopefully, one of them will work, Best of Luck.
Regards,
Waqar.

Showing printer error 6A00

I just copy this solution for you to this link:

the solution is posted by BAB..

they have the same problem as you ..then this solution solve it..^^

The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam. Some where in the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 code. As a Canon tech, I usually find the code, almost 90% of the time, is related to the purge unit being jammed with something and not being able to move. Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like. And yes I have found all those things in a purge unit. The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs replacement. A Pixma MP830 would still be under Canon warranty, get it into a shop and save yourself the hassel.
Incidently, the 6A00 error pertains to all Canon printers made in the last several years, its not just used in one model. And its always a paper path error or purge unit.
I forget myself so here goes, the purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, lexmark, and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing. That is why you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it. It also has a an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.
