Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
There are two solution you can try, it is unlikely there is a hardware fault.
1st soloution try installing all latest updates from system updates.
if this does not work go to system settings> backup then follow the instructions to back up your data i advise using a memory stick or portable hard drive.
When this is done go to system settings and select restore ps3, follow the instructions and your data will be erased, your ps3 will be restored to its factory default with the operating re installed. When your ps3 reboots install the latest updates.
Then try your ps3 out to see if it freezes, if all is fine go to system settings> back and choose to restore a previous backup, you will then have all your saved data back. Then you can enjoy your ps3 :)
if this does not work i advise contacting sony for more advice.

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
