sony dvp ns300 dvd player jumps back while playing
Problem for Sony DVP-NS300 DVD Player
Won't read the disk.
DVD player would not read disk. Itook the cover off and noticed the disc was not spinning at all. At first I could spin it with my finger and then it would take off , but now it won't spin at all.

- Starts up but won't spin the disc. Player states "No Disc". Is this something I can fix myself and where do I purchase replacement parts if I need them? I used a dvd cleaner thinking it was dirty. If a disc wont spin or start to spin is an indication that the lens is not focusing on the serface of the disc. Try cleaning the lens with a lens cleaning disc. If that does not work, clean the lens manually with a damped cotten swab with alcohol and see if that helps. If it does not, it needs an alighnment of the tracking / focus offsets or gains and your going to need special equipment to do that alighnment. it most likly will not be worth the expense. Good Luck
