My Toshiba Satellite L355D-S7901 has begun to shut down a lot, regardless of being plugged in on AC power, or running on battery. I have cleaned the fans and heatsinks with compressed air and a toothbrush many times, yet the problem persists when running what should be very simple things. In the past week, this has happened more than a dozen times and it certainly seems to be a heat related issue. I have updated all software, run virus checks and spyware scans and made sure I'm running the latest version of the BIOS from Toshiba's support site. We loaded Speedfan and see temperatures ranging from 45C to 75C.-167f Any suggestions?
Check all leads from motherboard to hard drive including electrical extensions and all of your cd/dvd drives make sure connections are secure dust free and not faulty
computers need all power and data to travel through every working device and to finish its cycle
so any faulty lead will end in computer error or shutdown or fail to boot
make sure your computers RAM modules are securely seated with no dust in the sockets also the Cmos battery has charge and seated with no dust in the sockets
some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in
might be getting hot check your CPU make sure it has a thermal paste and a dust free and secure seating
could be a memory dump you might be running to many programs at the one time placing to much strain on the CPU you might not have enough RAM random access memory
hope this helps you

Possible that PC is hanging up as there is fault on the OS ( operating system) . So open the internet options in the browser and clean all the cookies, temporary internet files, defragment the drives and RESTORE the PC to an earlier set date. You can use a registry cleaner like Advanced system care. Download from the site and check you system for corrupt files. Also use a good antivirus software which is active to keep your system performing without an attack on the OS. Remove all unnecessary programs installed which you do not use all the time and clean up the drives. This will free up the space and make your system faster. Also a fault on the memory can be another issue but an hardware problem that needs a probe.
If there is no response but the PC tends to work slower and occasionally hanging when a program is being executed then you might have to install the OS once again. Install the OS and then an antivirus before the drivers of the PC is installed.
