Sub repair

Well actually you can repair it your self with geat ease i may add,,

actuall all that can go in the speaker is the coil.. Yep the coil thats all

You will need a coil for it, a dust cap and the cone.
1.) using a knife, cut the cone off
2.) ulsolder the coil from the speaker
3.) resolder the new coil
4.) firmly fit and glue the coil to the new cone
5.) glue the cone to the metal edges of the speaker
6.) glue on the dust cap..
7.) have a beer your done..

You can get the parts at any local electronisc shop, I'd recommend you cut the cone and the coil off and take it with you when buying parts.

Need help finding out which termanals are which on my audiobahn subwoofer

Touch a 9v battery to the speaker terminals for a second. If the speaker cone pops outward, note the polarity of the battery terminals. The + was on the + side of the speaker and - on the - side. If the speaker popped inward it's the opposite.

Our Ev Sx600 got blown for the first time since 2010, should we rewind or replace with new cones or diaphragm .

It is better to have it rewinded by an Expert. Bear in mind that a repaired speaker may not reproduce sound as the original. It all depends on the skill of the one doing the repair. Replacing the cone and the diaphragm will alter the acoustic characteristics of the speaker so it is not advisable not unless the diaphragm or the cone is already damaged.

My basslink worked great, son blew fuse, replaced, now sounds lik

If the speaker has been overdriven, it may have damaged the cone surround or damaged the speaker coil, causing it to 'rub' inside the magnet. To check for rubbing, you need to move the speaker cone backwards and forwards by hand and listen where the speaker coil/cone goes into the magnet. It should be silent if ok. If you can heara rubbing or grating noise, then the speaker is damaged. If the output driver on the amp is damaged it can give a distorted sound, which could easily happen if it tries to provide too much current.

Contact MMats Pro Audio at 561-842-0600. They can re-cone it for you, or sell you the re-cone kit. If that does not work for you, contact MWA Speaker Parts in Tuscon - 520-647-7193. They can sell you a re-cone kit, or they can direct you to a speaker repair center near you. A third option would be to contact Sundown Audio in Troutman, NC. They may be able to re-cone it for you.

Radio sound with a noise

Please take out the speaker and inspect it for a torn cone. At times, humidity, amp power or just wear and tear ruins the cone. Then you can replace the speaker or re surface the old speaker with a new cone. That will save you some bucks but may not be as well as buying another speaker. Also please use the same model and Ohms of it. 8 or 16 ohms

I need picture or instruction on how to take apart a Alpine 12 inch type X subwoofer?

First pry off the rubber gasket. Then take a razor and cut out the cone, cut as close to the outer edge of the surround as you can. Then snip the tinsel leads connecting the cone to the spider. Then take your knife and cut out the spider. The cone and voice coil should now slide out. The rest of the speaker can be takin apart with a screwdriver and hammer.

Now hide from the owner of the speaker, he will probably want to hurt you.
