Question about Dryers

Maytag Stackable Washer Dryer LSE7806ACE Squeak

Our Maytag dryer squeaks/screeches fairly regularly. My husband has dressed the belt to try and solve this, but now believes the noise is coming from a wheel or bearing near the back of the machine. This noise does not effect the dryer's performance. Any suggestions on what he can do about it?

YOU MOST LIKELY HAVE A REAR DRUM BEARING FAILING. IT IS A SMALL TEFLON BEARING THAT SLIPS ON OVER THE REAR SHAFT OF THE DRUM AND INTO THE HOLE IN THE REAR OF THE DRYER. THERE ARE ALSO FRONT GLIDES THAT SUPPORT THE FRONT OF THE DRYER. OLDER DRYERS HAVE THE FRONT SUPPORTS UNDER THE DRUM SO THE DRUM RESTS ON THEM. NEWER G.E. DRYERS HAVE A PLASTIC RING WITH THREE TEFLON GLIDES ON TOP OF THEM AND THE DRUM HANGS FROM THESE GLIDES. REPLACE ALL OR SOME OF THE ABOVE PARTS TO ELIMINATE YOUR SQUEAK.
ON OTHER POSSIBILITY, THE IDLER PULLEY THAT KEEPS TENSION ON THE BELT CAN BECOME A SQUEAK MAKER.

Kenmore stackable wash/dryer Dryer squeaks so loud. How do I stop the squeak.

You probably have a bearing in one of the rollers that spin when the dryer is turning. You'll have to take the front panel off and remove the dryer tub by taking the belt off. You'll then see two doughnut shaped wheels attached to the back panel. Check and see if one or both are loose on the shaft that holds them. If they are replace them. Lubercating is not an option. If they seem ok, check the wheel that the belt loops through and make sure it spins without wobbling. One of the three things is causing the squeak.

I have a frigidaire stackable washer/dryer model number FEx831cs0. The washer is working just find but the dryer for a few weeks has been making the worst screeching sounding in the world. I am not sure if...

A loose belt often makes a squeak that pulsates with the clothes hitting the paddles in the drum. It's probably the upper drum glide or rear bearing. If it's a constant screech coming from the front, it's probably the glide. If the noise seems to be in the back, suspect the bearing. You might check for a sock or something small that is stuck somewhere between the drum and the dryer.

Neither are very difficult to repair.

We've got a Maytag MDE6000AYQ dryer that we love. It started squeaking two loads ago. It would squeak off and on during the cycle. This next load seemed to squeak worse, so I'm worried to use it any...

The squeak is most likely from the drum support rollers or the drum bearing. If it's the rollers, they're fairly easy to replace and often a drop of lubricant will solve the problem. This is just one supplier of such parts:

Dryer makes a loud squeaking/squealing noise while drying.

If the dryer model number begins with 417, the drum is supported by a ball bearing in back, and a seal and glides up front. Often, the bearing will become very dry, either from years of use, or from excessive lint blowing up into the bearing. If the bearing isn't cracked or otherwise noticeably bad, you can usually solve the issue simply by lubing the bearing with a high temp grease. While the machine is apart...(a major pain in the butt), make sure to check the condition of the seal and glides on the front panel, and replace the belt if it looks at all cracked or frayed.
If this dryer is not a 417 and/or does not have a rear bearing, it's best to get a maintainance kit (belt, idler pulley and drum rollers) and install all the aforementioned parts, as they are the most likely source of screech. Also, check the motor by spinning the shaft manually with the belt off....if that is squeeking, it's motor
time.

well i am having about the same problem, but mine won't even fill, the dryer works but the washer won't fill or turn on at all. my husband had it all apart, too the control assembly to parts place and they said that hardly ever goes bad so it is still sitting unusable with no answer or money to spend on it in site.

Dryer makes a loud noise then stops

If it stops running when hot it may be the motor. The belt or drum rollers would not stop it from running.
