Re: How to read the meter on Cannon Copier
Yes, that is the correct counter of the copier. If you are doubting it, you can look at the bottom right of that display and confirm that the serial number is the same as on the back cover of the copier and also, it well tell you the model of the copier aswell. It is kind of hard to fake the meter or change it to a lower amount. To do it you need to change 3 PCB's from another copier & it is more work to bother with.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

hi sir, nothing counter / read meter button on this copier, and you can see at the mini LCD only. to see reading meter you press the star button (*) than you press (>) or (<) button to find a counter than press (ok) button. good luck
If so first you need to make sure it's networked. When you press the counter check button do you see IR2200(IR2200N)? Also is there an ethernet NIC in your copier?
If your copier is not networked you will need to get a tech to come and install a NIC and load the necessary firmware.
Then if not already setup on your network:
Do you have the Network Guide?
Go to page 2-11 and follow the instructions there.
You can click the DHCP icon and hopefully you'll get an IP address etc. (you may have to restart using switch on right hand side of copier to turn off, wait a while then turn back on). Once you have an IP address click on the DHCP icon again to make sure it's not filled in with black and save settings.
IP address must be in same range as other devices on your network e.g 192.168.1.x or 192.168.0.x (only specify a number for x between 1 and 254, must not be used by another device). Subnet mask must be same as for other devices. It's probably 255.255.255.0
Once setup on your network, download Canon Network ScanGear 2.21 (don't get the colour version) and follow the instructions in the manual included with the download.
Press the counter check button. What counters do you see. There can be up to 6 different ones I believe. What counter numbers do you see e.g. 101: Total 1
Counters to display can be set using Service Mode. Press Additional Functions > 2,8 > Additional Functions.
Copier > Option > User > COUNTER1,COUNTER2,COUNTER3,COUNTER4,COUNTER5,COUNTER6
Default's are COUNTER1: 101, COUNTER2: 103, COUNTER3: 201, COUNTER4: 203. COUNTER5, COUNTER6 none.
You could try entering those counters.
The counters could have been reset. It is apparently possible but certainly not advisable to do so without permission from Canon.
I would say that is not the correct meter. The meter is only 6 digits long, maybe 7 it's been awhile scine I looked at one. You probly have a meter of 0136012. There is only one hard counter / meter in the copier. It's not even the serial number?? Good luck
