Dell Calculator Hotkey

I used to be able to bring up multiple calculator windows each time I pushed calculator hotkey. Now I push it once and get one calc. window. Push it again and nothing happens. Sometimes I need 3 or more calc windows at a time-how can I configure button work again to bring up another calc(s). when I need it?

Verify if multiple calc works if you launch it from windows, without using the hot-key. if that does not work, its a windows issue - might need a full repair / install. If windows is able to launch it - you can fix the issue by reinstalling any drivers for your kbd.

When I enter a number using the + button, it often adds it multiple times

You may be pushing it down to hard or holding it down for too long. Try pushing and releasing it very quickly.

Good luck,

Tip

Use Winsize2 to remember any Windows Size using its HotKey

I always had trouble with IE8 not holding its full size window and also the command prompt for my batch files on my 1280x1024 TFT screen I tried many Reg Tweaks but none seemed to work after a restart, then I found Winsize2 on this download link

http://sunet.dl.sourceforge.net/project/winsize2/WinSize2/WinSize2_V2.32.04.zip

When you use the standard hotkey "CTRL+ALT+Y" on the active window it will save the windows size in its own ini file so that if the window is closed it will always reopen with the saved size that it was when you used the hotkey

Winsize2.ini file stored in the Margrasoft's %appdata% folder will auto-increment value AWNr_x as for each time the hotkey is pressed, you can edit the Special Parameters by right clicking here is an example showing the command prompt resized larger than the default settings. You can also check the use a different ini file for each screen width 1280 or 1024 etc.

cd7f4c2.jpg

NOTE: This will not overwrite the command settings in the Command Prompt properties window if its set to a width of 100 winsize2 will resize and use its ini settings

My volume buttons on my compaq presario c769us are not working , is there a combination for the volume buttons

From the manual:
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01114193.pdf

Hotkeys are combinations of the fn key (lower left of keyboard) and one of the function keys:
Mute and restore speaker sound. fn+home
Increase speaker sound. fn+pg up
Decrease speaker sound. fn+pg dn
To use a hotkey command on the computer keyboard, follow either of these steps:
Briefly press the fn key, and then briefly press the second key of the hotkey command.
- or -
Press and hold down the fn key, briefly press the second key of the hotkey command, and then
release both keys at the same time.
Muting speaker sound (fn+home)
Press fn+home to mute speaker sound. Press the hotkey again to restore speaker sound.
Increasing speaker sound (fn+pg up)
Press fn+pg up to increase speaker sound. Hold down the hotkey to increase speaker sound incrementally.
Decreasing speaker sound (fn+pg dn)
Press fn+pg dn to decrease speaker sound. Hold down the hotkey to decrease speaker sound incrementally.

My TI-89 calculator turns on, but gets stuck on window editor

If you're willing to have all RAM cleared, try a hard reset.

Press and hold the 2ND, Left-arrow, and Right-arrow keys.
Press and release the ON key.

Cannot invoke hotkey function to switch computers .Directions say use num loc key plus minus key and release num loc but this doesnt work.

Make sure your keyboard and mouse are plugged into the correct usb slots on the switch. One is labled for keyboard, and the other for mouse. If you mix these up, those hotkeys will not work! :) Also, a much better hotkey for this switch is to tap scroll-lock twice. This automatically switches, so you don't have to hit multiple buttons.

I have an hp ze2000. I hooked it up to an external monitor. When I unhooked it and restarted it my laptop screen now stays blank. Who knows the answer to this?

I think you have to reset through setup F12 or is it F8 restart and push one or the other, then locate menu for screen click to enable.

Haven't come across this before. Best I can suggest?

Sloooooow....

Press the [ON] and [CLEAR] keys at the same time to reset the calculator. It may fix the problem. If it does not, change battery (if battery powered, not solar).
