The boiler wont fire up and the blue light flashes once per second

Let's see what we can do to trouble-shoot this boiler--

First of all-- Are we talking about a Hot Water 'Boiler'-- In other words does this boiler heat water that circulates thru the house, to keep you warm?

Next-- What is your fuel?

Have you Shut the system down, to reset it?-- What happens when it comes back on again?-- Clicking sounds-- pumps trying to start-- solenoids trying to open, etc.-- Tell us what you observe-- so we can help you trouble shoot this problem.

I have just tried to run my ferroli optimax 31c boiler. The boiler fires up, but then displays a d2 message and the radiators do not heat up. Any ideas what causes this problem and how I can solve it...

D2 is not a fault what that means is delay and 2 refers to CH which means the boiler has gone into standby mode. you need to check that your CH circut is open, there is a filter on the return valve into boiler make sure this is not blocked. If this is blocked the water is just going though the boiler by-pass so then the boiler thinks its up to temp. hope this helps

F20 error on vaillant eco28 combi boiler

F20 is a flow sensor error. Can be due to a defective sensor/ not correctly fitted, or you may have poor circulation, a big difference in flow and return temperatures, can sometimes make the boiler think it has a defective sensor, check good circulation through system, or if you have thermostatic radaiators valves on every single radiator, take 1 head off, as if you dont have a bypass fitted, it needs a radiator as a bypass circuit

I have a 6 year old Halstead Ace High boiler which has many recurring problems due to a bad fitting. It was never flushed out causing the heat exchange needing to replaced TWICE through clogging and then...

Firstly your system needs a power flush to get rid of the grot, then it needs a good inhibitor to slow up the reappearance of the sludge.

Changing the boiler won't help. Any boiler will get clogged up but the halstead DHW heat exchanger is particualrly prone to getting gummed up. You can clean this out and refit without having to buy a new one. - but without a power flush it will happen again.
