The panel for the machine is working / beeping no problems but when you press to start nothing happens - any ideas to reboot the machine?

The problem is definitely in the lid switch. Your machine has a reed switch which is located under the hob on the right side of the tub. There is a magnet built into the lid which activates the reed switch when the lid is closed. You will need to replace the reed switch and harness.

My F & Paykel washer did this. There was a baby sock under the wash basin. I called for repairman and he found the problem.

Sounds like a possible main control card issue. If this machine is under warranty please call your dealer as these boards can be expensive.

OK Problem located (without Diagnostics) , the problem was a faulty START/PAUSE button. I took the display board apart and fiddled with the button (whilst the power was UNPLUGGED) Starts almost every time, when it does`nt fiddle some more.

Hi have had this problem on phase 5 grey controller, on the controll board near where the valve hot and cold wires are connected you will see a small usually blue resistor value approx 5ohms this is probably open circuit replace it check your water valves before reconnecting I was fortunate enough to have plenty of spare valves so I just replaced both valves as I suspect a faulty one may have damaged resistor machine has been working fine for some time since
