I have the same problem. except it stopped working all together now.

  • chonkat Dec 10, 2008

yup, think somebody dropped it. feels like the gyro part is loose inside, but the remote is difficult to disassemble to check it out!

  • sammo83 Dec 30, 2008

I have the same problem. Remote has a rattling inside and it won't work unless it's actually physically upside down, in which case the motion is inverted. Sounds like a little piece of plastic inside broke off and the gyro became undone.

Stupid thing is this is the 2nd time it's happened to me. First time cost me $40 to ship back to the states to get it fixed.

Yeah I had the same problem...there is one screw you can get to when you take the batteries out and then I had to use a screwdriver and jam it in the side to get it to come apart. There is a metal casing for the Gyro part that came off and was messing it all up...soooo I just left the metal casing off(because it was glued on it won't stay on now) and it works fine!!!

Connected an RCA sound bar to my RCA tv an the remote control wont work anymore

You may have situated it so it is blocking the pickup for the remote. Your remote is talking but the TV can't hear it. Make sure no part of the front is blocked by the sound bar.

1) you must change the batteries
2) clean the contacts batteries with special cleaner contacs
3) retight the spring contacts batteries for better contact.
4) resolder the wires connector contacts batteries.
5) open the remote control, for clean keypads for dirty, corrosion, or oxide.
6) remember the r.control send infrared frequency, and it must be clean the matrix design inside , in other words, must be clean, other wise inside the microcontroller WILL not work GOOD, only erratic.

Sharp GA219SA doesn't work

If the remote works for sometime once the battery is put into , it means that the circuit is erratic as the frency seems to change from the set value. This can be a fault in the processor IC in the remote, a fault in the crystal or associated capacitors. Check also the IR driver transistor which can be leaking and so changes the output.

Remote # 135899 skip fwd button works intermittently how do i fix it

Hi, erratic operation on some keys only could be an indicator of wear due to normal use, remote controls are not repairable, I suggest contacting your dish service provider to get a replacement remote, I am sure that they will ship one upon your request, at the time of your call they will probably require that you give them some information on the remote itself(usually numbers and letters) so have your remote near when you call.

My remote has a mind of its own. buttons wont respond. remote will operate on its own.

Wow! Sounds haunted! Seriously though, if your remote is behaving erratically the best thing to try first is a complete re-programming including a firmware update. To stack the deck in your favor, I would even put the remote in 'safe mode' and then do the updates. Here's how:

Launch the Logitech Remote software on your computer and click on "Downloads" (on the top menu bar). Then, take the battery out of your remote and at the same time you connect the USB cable to your remote (it should be already connected on the computer end) press and hold down the Off button at the top of the remote. This will put the remote in "safe mode". Continue to hold down the Off button until you see the message "safe mode requested" on the remote's screen and the screen starts blinking. Release the Off button and go back to your computer and click on "Firmware". An update to the remote's firmware should be executed. Then, you should be prompted to update the remote with your device/activity configuration. If all goes well, this may solve your problems. Good luck!

Remote works at time, and does not work after dark

It would be our pleasure in assisting you with this. The first thing we want to check is if the issue isaffecting multiple buttons on the remote. If you are having the issue withspecific buttons then the remote needs to be replaced, give us a call at1-800-333-DISH (3474). If you are having the issue with more than one button checkif you are using the correct remote for the correct room, there may be a numberon the bottom of the remote that tells you which room the remote should be in. Atthis point we want to re-address your remote, if issue is with the TV2 remote.Access "System Info" at TV1, then using the remote that is NOT functioning, press and releasethe "SAT" button then press and release the RECORD buttonon remote control, this should re-address the remote. If the batteries in theremote have not been replaced in the past 60 days, replace the batteries. Resetthe receiver by unplugging it for 10 seconds then plug it back in thenre-address the remote again. If the remote is still not working at this pointthen it may be an interference issue. Find interference source (back lighting orpower save mode on LCD TV's, fluorescent lighting in room, or direct sunlight),eliminate. If the remote is still not working after all these steps we need tohave your remote replaced, give us a call at the number mentioned above.

We really hope all these steps resolve your remote issue. Thank you for being avalued DISH Network customer!

Samsung TV remote. I noticed today my TV remote wasn't working. I changed the batteries and noticed there had been some leakage from the AAA batteries. Since changing the batteries the 8 buttons on the top...

Giving you some hints. Battery leakage is one enemy of tv control and other remote control. They can corrode your battery spring contact, give contact bridges with neighboring tracks that can cause erratic behavior of your remote.

Some repairs can be done but doesn't guarantee success. First is try to clean the corrosion on battery contact = no power usually. Erratic behavior cause by contact bridging = battery leak residues.

Opening a remote control. Some have screws on its small foot. Covered by a rubber or sticker. Some are notch clip in strategic location you have to fry that one by one, opening first on its weakest side. In some don't want to be open.

Cleaning the board by a soft eraser is one way. After you open the remote. Commonly the button area where contact takes place.

If the first procedure and cleaning doesn't work. Buy new remote or use universal remote controller.

Gyration remote control will not sync with the rf receiver.

I had this issue and this is what I did.
1: Control panel
2: Double click Mouse (To access "Mouse Properties)
3: On top click Hardware
4 Check how many hardwares you have and one by one highlight them and click properties and update the drivers.

Try that and post any message

I just can't get it to work, new batteries and all.

First check if the remote control is sending an infrared signal. If the LED is flashing, this does not mean the Remote control is sending the IR signal. There is a separet Infrared LEd that sends the signal. To check the IR, point the remote control in a video camera or any camera with real-time monitor (phone cam, webcam, etc.) and press any button. You will see a white flash coming from the Remote control. thjis works best if the camera is black&white, for color camera, the IR is still visible but quite faint. Another way of checking the IR (if you do not have a camera) is to press the RM in front of another device with remote control and while doing so, press the correct remote control . If that other does not function or functions erratically, then the remote control in question is emitting an IR signal. If there is no IR coming out, the solder conection of the IR LED might be the problem. It is rare that the IR LED will be damage because the remote control is only 3 volts. If the remote control does emit an IR signal, then the TV remote reciever is defective. I had this problem with a CD player that I have fixed. The IR reciever looks like an LED (dark colored) with three pins (V+, signal, ground). Cost less than $3
