Problem with power seat intermitten forward and back

I would try a switch first, if that doesn't fix it check all the wiring to the seat, if that is ok look for a used power seat transmission, you can't buy parts. for them only the complete assembly.

Starting problems

many times when a fuel pump starts to fail it fails intermittenly and then it just wont work at all. so it may be your fuel pump. because it still cranks strong then it's not the battery. it may also be loose wireing to and from your distributer. that could explain why it works intermittently. when the wire barely connect it works and as you drive they my loose contact. make sure all the connections to and from the distributer are not loose. you may need to change those cables as well.
