Question about Zenith TVBR2742Z 27 in. TV/VCR Combo

1 Answer

Zenith TV/VCR Combo, Model TVA 1923

I do not have a remote for this model yet and need help locating one. Also the TV receives only 3 channels and I'm not sure why, I can't receive more. If anyone knows something about these sets or how to program it etc., would certainly appreciate any info on what to look for. Thank You Neil Peterson neilp02@sprynet.com

Go to Radio Shack and get a basic universal remote, about 10 dollars. Once you program the tv with the remote you will be able to get all of the channels. The workers at Radio Shack are very helpful if you have any problems.

I cant figure out how to change the channel to input/video on my broadband tv without a remote

This problem may be more complex than just the selection of a channel to receive video. The first problem is what channel to receive the video. Usually its received on channel 3 or 4. You select that on the video output and match it on the TV. That assumes your recorder is attached via the RF (antenna) connection. If its hooked up via the component connect then you must have a remote to select IN1 or IN2 on the TV to receive video. Remote controls are available on line. Do a search on your TV model and remote control.

I am trying to program the RCA ColorTrak Plus TV to my satellite receiver and I get nothing but snow

You will need to get a "regular" Universal remote and program it for that particular model of TV. You will need to access the on screen setup menu for the TV and then have it scan the channels. Make sure your DTV box is on and connected with the coaxial cable. If the "TV Input" button on your DTV remote works and you can get it onto the Video Channel, You can connect your DTV receiver with the RCA Cables (Red, White and Yellow) and get your picture that way. If you access the on screen menu, you will need to scan for Analog and Digital channels as the receiver transmits in Analog. hope this helps.

Zenith TVBR1322 9 In. Combo universal code

Universal remotes will be missing key functions in these units.

Zenith (and for that matter most brands) do not make these units--about 4 companies make most of them.

Your best bet is to try to locate an original remote--Zenith(LG) or Google the model number "original remote" or even search EBAY.

I just recieved the Sylvania LC195SLX from my grandfather, it has no remote, but we are using dish network remote anyway, the channel is stuck on 5, and i can't change any channel or get a signal from...

Hello! I hope that you have gotten this resolved, but if not, here are some steps to do so. You can program the remote to the TV first and then use that for this, or you can use the buttons on the TV itself.

Remote to TV Steps:

1. Hold down the clear TV button until all lights light up at the top of the remote
2. Punch in a 3 digit code (provided below)
3. Press the # (POUND) button
4. Try powering the tv on/off, and the volume. If one or more of these functions do not work, start over from step 1 with a different code

632

Satellite picture back:

If you are at TV1, where the receiver box is located, the tv needs to be on channel 3 or 4.
If you are using a coax cable, the TV needs to be on 3 or 4.
Depending on the cable that is running between the receiver and the tv, the tv may need to be on an input, such as video 1 or 2. If you are at the TV2 location, where there is no receiver, then the tv needs to be on channel 60 or 73.
If you are using an HDMI cable, then the TV will need to be on an HDMI input
If you are using Component cables, your TV will need to be on a component input. (Usually Comp 1 or 2)
If you are using RCA cables, then the TV will need to be on a VIDEO input (Usually Video 1 or 2)

I have no remote..... I cannot get picture only snow. I have Direrct TV..........I do not understand how the channel, volume and menu button are to be usd

If you are using cable wire from your directv receiver and not the red white and yellow wires, you must have the tv to channel 3 or 4 to pick up from the directv receiver. Go to the tv since you don't have a remote and push the channel up or down button to put the tv on channel 3. Be sure the satelite receiver is on.

My remote is fully deprogrammed, how I can turn to turn on and off the TV and box

Hi, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service here. In order to help you reprogram your DISH network remote to your TV to control your TV functions such as power on/off of TV and volume, I would need the model number of the remote and the brand name of your TV. You should be able to locate the model number of your remote on the back of the remote at the top usually a 2 to 3 digit number with a decimal point. I will list here for you the instructions for reprogramming your remote to your DISH receiver to control your receiver functions. If you would also like me to help you get your DISH remote reprogrammed to your TV please email me directly at Cheri.Torres@Dishnetwork.com with your remote model number and the brand name of the TV. I hope you find this information useful and if you have any further questions or concerns feel free to email me.

Instructions for addressing the remote to your receiver.
  1. Go to System Info screen. You can do this by either pressing the system info button on the front of the receiver or you can press the power button once and then the channel up button once on the front of the receiver.
  2. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
  3. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.Change the number to something different then what is already listed in the small white square.
  4. Press the pound (#) button.
  5. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. Note: If successful, the number selected in step 3 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

Moved tv to another room turns on but cant get pic from sat

Hey there, this is Cheri Torres with DISH Network customerservice. I came across your post and wanted to see if I could be of someassistance. I do have few questions about your system that would help me togive you a better answer on what you will need to do to resolve this issue. Iwould first like to know what type of DISH Network receiver you have; youshould be able to find the model number on the front left side of your receiverbox. Is the type of receiver you have a dual receiver (plays two TVs from onereceiver)? Did you also move the receiver into a different room along with yourTV? If you are working with TV1 (the TV that is in the same room as yourreceiver) you are going to want to make sure your TV is either on channel 3 or4, or that it needs to be on a input (i.e. video 1, video 2, input 3 etc.). Youcan usually determine this by checking which type of cables you have. If youhave coax cables (black cable with silver end that you can screw into the TV)the TV will need to be set to channel 3/4. If the cables are RCA cables (yellow, white and red) or a HDMI cable (black cable with thin end) the TV will need tobe set on an input. For TV2 the second TV off of your receiver which should neverbe in the same room as the receiver the channel should be set for either 60 or73. I hope you find this information useful and if you are able to answer thequestions I would be able to help you a lot more with this issue. Feel free topost back here with a response or you can also email me atCheri.Torres@Dishnetwork.com. :)

I have dish network and I just received a new remote I was able to program the remote and can see the channels for dishnetwork but somehow the channel that my tv is set on to receive the signal has been...

Hopefully after 3 months this has been resolved, but if not, here are some simple steps to take. If you are in TV1, where the receiver box is, you want your tv set to channel 3 or 4. Depending on the cables you have, you may need to put your tv on an input. Usually Video 1 or 2. If you are at TV2, the location away from the receiver, you will want your tv on channel 60 or 73. If neither of these work, try to unplug the receiver from the power source for about 10 seconds. Hope this info helps.
