We have had this tv for just over a year and of course the warrenty is finished. We are having problems with it turning on and off. When it is off and you go to turn it on it clicks and the green light comes on then it clicks and the red light turns on, this can happen 5-7 times before it stays on. This just started about 4 days ago and I was wondering if this is an easy fix that we can do or do we need a professional to come in? And if it is an easy fix could you give me the name of the part or something. Thank you
I had this on mine too. It is a problem with the power supply. Samsung knows about it.
As a professional TV technician I have a piece of advice for other techs offering advice. Please know what you are talking about before you throw your 2 pennies in. As an example Mr. tvtek Samsung HLS5679WX/XAA is an L E D TV. There is no lamp in this set. This set most likely has a bad LED driver board, a bad LED, or the subsmps board needs service. Please don't misinform people. I know this post is 11 months old, but I am sure people are still reading it. Thanks

My HL-5679W set did this also...I found It happened when I powered upon an HDMI input. If I power up set on S-video or other input and wait until components are warmed up for about 10 minutes, I could switch to the HDMI input with no problems. This happens with either of my HDMI inputs connected to satelite reciever or PS3 player.
